@Campbell4TN I’m all for being equal. So, let’s change the name of the “spring holiday” for @metronashville schools to its rightful name…Good Friday. I’m betting that won’t happen.

Overton welcomes people from many cultures in my district. More languages are spoken than at any other HS in our state. Along with support for Christianity, JOHS supports families from many cultures and faiths. For those who don't have hate in their hearts, it's a beautiful thing
Rep. Andy Ogles@RepOgles

John Overton High School is changing its entire bell schedule, creating specialized cafeterias, and hosting Ramadan dinners on its campus to cater to Muslims in my district. MNPS teachers are providing prayer rugs for students. Meanwhile, Christians have seen every trace of their religion erased from American education.

Hey Nashville! Everyone call @xfinity and get your credit for not having Channel 5. Maybe if everyone calls and asks for the credit they will get off their butts and get this issue solved before we miss all of The Masters!

@Xfinity do we in Nashville get a credit for ya’ll causing us to miss the final four and now @TheMasters? This is ridiculous. Get back to the table and get this deal done for your customers! Maybe we should all be shopping streaming platforms if you can’t resolve this quickly.

@AGTennessee Giving us two $15 credits when they charge $75 for two hour parking downtown. Gee thanks. I’m not sure that’s what I would call standing up for Tennessee consumers.

HB1971 has passed the House Judiciary Committee. As Rep. Bulso reiterated to the committee, this bill will make it more difficult for citizens to sue the government, taking away rights that were given to us in 2018. Here are how our representatives voted.

@Jerri_M_Green If your logic holds true, every city in Tennessee would have the same type of crime that Memphis does or now “did.” But, we all know that is not the truth or the issue.

Republicans want to paint a horror story about Memphis to cover up the fact that they’re the reason crime shot up in the first place. When they passed the law to allow guns in cars to be stored unsafely without consequences, Memphis became #1 in the nation for guns stolen out of cars. Chattanooga became #2. That’s not an accident. Before that law was passed, Memphis had a couple hundred guns stolen out of cars a year—then it shot up to thousands. When we tried to put measures on the ballot to allow our city to keep guns out of the wrong hands and keep weapons of war off our streets, Speaker Cameron Sexton threatened to take away our sales taxes. The ballot measures passed by 80%. That’s NRA-card toting residents and non gun-owners alike. The legislature still insists that guns run rampant on our streets. Because they won’t let us rein in gun violence, I started a free gun lock program to ensure more guns were stored safely. In the two years since we started that program, guns stolen out of cars went down 25%. Violent crime also went down 25%. All before the national guard came. Yet Trump, Governor Bill Lee, and my opponent Senator Marsha Blackburn come into Memphis to say they’ve saved the day. No, Democrats like me found a way to take care of our community in SPITE of your asinine gun laws. Republicans don’t care if school shootings, gun violence, and accidental gun deaths continue. Democrats are the party who are doing the work to keep our communities safe. Those are the facts. 6 of the 10 safest states in the U.S. are led by Democratic governors. Maybe we should try something different.

@RepMcGarvey You’re obviously drinking too much of that good bourbon from Kentucky as you have this completely backwards. Dems are the problem. Fund the government and get back to work. Your constituents pay your salary to do your job not to post on twitter.

Millions of dollars are missing. ABC, Paramount, X, and Meta all settled lawsuits by promising to donate millions to Trump's library fund. Now, his initial library fund is gone. Is the money in Donald Trump's pocket? I'm pressing for answers.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

A Muslim flag was raised at Newark City Hall as people chanted “Allahu Akbar” (January). Mamdani sat on the floor and ate with his hands at New York City Hall (March). This isn’t assimilation. This is takeover.

Freddie O’Connell and members of the Nashville Metro Council are proposing legislation to make it easier to open child care centers in Nashville by updating regulations and fast-tracking permits. Officials say the goal is to expand options as child care costs top $13K a year in Davidson County. bit.ly/40kYblU
