@ScriptTrooper @davidicke Meltwater Pulse events are well-documented following glacial melt at the end of the Ice Age (Younger Dryas period).
Many early civilizations were built on or near rivers and oceans. At a minimum the sea level rose ~50 feet, which would’ve been apocalyptic to those people.
English

@davidicke Wait. So other cultures and people groups from all over the world that have no historical connection to one another also have a similar story of a flood? Intriguing.
English

Don't be silly, mate. The Old Testament 'Noah' myth was plagiarised from much earlier flood stories that can be found around the world including Sumer in Mesopotamia. There was no 'Noah' as there was no wooden ark full of animals 'two-by-two'. A made-up story can't be sitting in Turkey.
Oliver Burdick@oliverburdick
BREAKING: Noah's Ark is literally just sitting there in Turkey and people still don't believe the Bible is true.

@KLowe512 @histories_arch It was the same thing in Ancient Rome (and around the world) where people would mix concentrated wine with water to kill off the bacteria. Everyone drank wine water, including kids!
English

@histories_arch Wine, beer, hard cider instead of dirty water - people were crocked all day every day back then!

The real Johnny Appleseed, born John Chapman, did plant apple trees across the American frontier, but not for snacking. Most of the apples grown from seed were bitter and unsuitable for eating raw. Their real purpose was hard cider, which was safer to drink than water in many frontier settlements where clean supplies were unreliable.
In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, apple cider was a daily staple for adults and children alike. It was lightly alcoholic, stored well, and far less likely to carry waterborne illnesses. Chapman understood this practical need. He planted nurseries ahead of westward settlers, selling young trees once communities arrived, making him less a wandering charity figure and more a savvy frontier businessman.
Over time, the story softened into folklore, portraying him as a barefoot saint scattering sweet apples for all. The truth is more grounded and more interesting. Johnny Appleseed helped fuel frontier survival through cider production, quietly shaping settlement patterns and local economies one bitter apple tree at a time.

🔴The American Association of University Professors says, "a college or university of this sort harms its students, faculty, and traditions, and consequently can no longer be regarded as a serious institution of higher learning."

@Dick_Dicks_ @claire_frasers @nkozyra @chadfelixg @RepMarkPocan That’s literally what you’ve done this entire thread, Dick.
It’s already been conceded that it was a cap, not a ban. For some reason you can’t concede that it’s a bad thing either way.
Arguing semantics IS deflection.
English

@claire_frasers @ConsumingW @nkozyra @chadfelixg @RepMarkPocan Fuckin stupid question. Do you have anything useful to say? You deflect, that's your whole game.

We banned overdraft fees. Trump brought them back.
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS
The 20 biggest US banks made over $3 billion last year in overdraft fees.
English

@Dick_Dicks_ @nkozyra @chadfelixg @RepMarkPocan Okay, they capped the overdraft fees at $5 and then the Trump admin removed that cap, just like he did with insulin.
Is that better, Dick?

The CCTV video doesn't clearly show the driver's identity or license plate. However, reports from sources like Haaretz, Anadolu Agency, and the IDF confirm Israeli civilians (Hasidic Jews visiting Joseph's Tomb without authorization) were involved, detained, and their vehicle seized after the hit-and-run in Nablus on Dec 19.

Israelis love to talk about what would happen if they went into Palestinian cities. But as you can see, they can go in there, commit terror attacks and leave unharmed.

@OfficialCEOofX @grok @Big_Chillin_Tho @straycomrade @DineshDSouza Yes that’s called a wartime economy. The USA was going through something very similar at the time to maximize funds for the warfront.
In fact, we still have major governmental controls on our modern day economy - but does that fit your narrative?
English

@grok @Big_Chillin_Tho @straycomrade @DineshDSouza Heavy state control you say?
Directed production you say?
Set prices you say?
Central planning you say?
It sounds closer to socialism with very minimal capitalistic freedom.
