BREAKING: A Saudi oil tanker is on fire after being struck by the Houthis approximately 70 km north of the Yemeni border, according to UKMTO.
The vessel had departed from Yanbu before the reported attack. The Yemeni Houthis later said "large-scale operations are underway."
Brent crude surged above $94 a barrel, its highest settlement in six weeks.

Israel abducted a 20-year-old woman from her home in the occupied West Bank in the middle of the night on June 2.
Her name is Sama Safi.
She is not a combatant.
She is an American-Palestinian university student.
She has now been caged in an Israeli dungeon for 58 days — without charges, without reason.
And yet, the same voices that claim to care about human rights have nothing to say.
No outrage. No headlines. No urgent calls for her freedom.
Because Sama is Palestinian, her story is ignored.

🇺🇸 The House has passed the $1.1 trillion National Defense Authorization Act 216–212, with six Democrats voting yes and seven Republicans voting no. It incudes section 219 which integrates U.S. military intelligence and the defense industrial base with Israel.
The bill makes US military support for Israel easier and more institutionalized. It creates a Pentagon official tasked with accelerating U.S.-Israel military technology cooperation, including joint R&D, testing, co-production, data sharing, and moving jointly developed technology into procurement.
Separately, it extends through 2029 an existing authority allowing the U.S. to transfer weapons already stored in its War Reserve Stockpile in Israel. That authority can permit transfers without Congress voting on each shipment, with Congress only receiving notification under the underlying law.

Israel is publicly distancing themselves from what they’re calling our “contained campaign”. Notice the language their cabinet officials are using and what it implies.
This is Israel publicly signaling that they want to expand the war, and that when they do they won’t be coordinating that escalation with the U.S. It’s worth noting that the phrasing of these public statements affords President Trump plausible deniability if/when Israel escalates.
One might be wondering, how can Israel escalate without us when the catalyst for this disaster was that Israel needed U.S. military support? Remember—just last week Netanyahu was hinting, again publicly, about Israel’s nuclear capability, which has never officially been confirmed.
At the same time, in the last 24hrs reports from Israeli intelligence claim that the Iranians have moved their enriched uranium to the heavily fortified “Pickaxe” Mountain—providing Israel with a justification for potentially using a nuclear weapon.
Israel must be meaningfully restrained. Failing to do so means we are likely comfortable with allowing Israel to use a nuclear weapon so long as we can claim we had nothing to do with it.
If you think the potential for a nuclear weapon seems far-fetched, play out the options for a military solution in Iran: we don’t have enough troops to invade Iran, so using nuclear weapon becomes the next logical step. This would be catastrophic.
This is why we must immediately restrain Israel, pull out of the region, & use economic diplomacy to reopen the SOH.

Whatever one thinks of integration itself, this process is indefensible.
Binding American defense production to any foreign state, ally or not, is exactly the kind of sovereignty question the House exists to debate, and the rules committee answered it by forbidding the debate.
A measure confident of its merits wins a floor vote; a measure smuggled past one admits it can't.

Lamine Yamal is the son of two teenage immigrants.
Nico Williams’ mother crossed the Sahara Desert barefoot while pregnant to escape Ghana. His parents walked for days across the desert without food or water.
Stories like theirs remind us that immigrants don’t weaken nations, they help build them.

The House is set to vote on several bills before they leave on Thursday and won’t be back in session until September.
The $1.15 Trillion dollar NDAA, which will tie our military intelligence to Israel.
A Trump requested $93 billion dollar bill that gives the pentagon $60 billion for the Iran War that has now killed 17 US service members and injured over 430 more. Another $12 billion will go to farmers who have been financially devastated because of Trump’s war with Iran due to high costs of fertilizer and fuel.
And another CR, which is another extension of the budget bc Republicans can’t pass a budget even though they campaign constantly on balancing the budget and reducing the near $40 Trillion dollar debt.
Just to be clear, under full Republican control, their priorities are funding another foreign war, selling out our military intelligence to a foreign country that bankrolls most of our politicians campaigns, and overspending your tax dollars.
Nothing changed by electing Trump and Republicans.
Oh and the national price of gas is $4 dollars again and we only have less than 45 days left of our Strategic Petroleum Reserves. What was that thing we used to say again, drill baby drill?
