The comments were broadcast as part of state coverage of the war effort. The old Labour party of the Netherlands, having been around essentially since the 19th century, has officially and irreversibly been absorbed by the progressive Green Left (anno 2026). Social Democracy, originally a powerful movement for the common man abolishes itself for a warped globalist progressivist idealism.
This leaves all the room for dubious parties that stand up - or at least claim to do so - for the interests of the working class native population, where most of the former Social Democratic base has flocked to. These are mostly far-right parties with an inward looking mentality and no future vision, let alone actual skill to govern (e.g. Wilders' PVV)
Abandoning the working class in a time where their interests seem to be more and more subordinate to neoliberalism and the madness of mass immigration, is an unforgivable act of betrayal.
