Joe Kent has obviously been criticized extensively for being a groyper, a conspiracy theorist, a leaker, a grifter, a geopolitics ignoramus but my question is what counterterrorism initiatives did he advance? I haven’t heard of anything useful that he did as head of the National Counterterrorism Center. What did he do to enhance counterterrorism if anything? Honestly seems like he was just positioning himself to be a groyper podcaster.

The Real Candace. IMHO If someone claims to be a faithful Catholic, the standard is not influence or boldness. The standard is conformity to Catholic moral teaching on truth and speech. Here’s where Candace’s public record conflicts with that,using clear, attributable patterns and statements tied to doctrine. 1) The Eighth Commandment: truth, not insinuation CCC 2477–2478 forbids presenting suspicion as fact. Candace repeatedly frames issues through sweeping, unverified claims like: •“There is a global elite… trying to control everything.” •“You’re watching a coordinated effort by people who want power over you.” These are not carefully evidenced claims. They are broad insinuations about hidden control, presented to millions as reality. Catholic teaching requires verification and restraint, not amplification of suspicion. 2) Elevating rumor as content The moral problem is not only falsehood, but reckless communication of claims. Candace has platformed speculation such as: •Entertaining whether public figures are authentic or “really present” •Turning questions like “Is Bibi dead?” into show content CCC 2477 condemns even implying wrongdoing without sufficient foundation. Turning rumor into programming is a direct violation of that principle. 3) Speech that degrades rather than edifies •Ephesians 4:29 commands speech that builds up •James 3 warns that the tongue can destroy Candace’s rhetoric regularly includes: •“That is complete bulls—” •Calling opponents “idiots” and worse •Mockery as a default mode of engagement This is not incidental. It is habitual. And habitual coarse speech forms vice in both speaker and audience. 4) Antisemitism and prohibited rhetoric The Church is explicit: •Nostra Aetate: rejects hatred or contempt for Jews •CCC 1935: condemns discrimination and hostility toward peoples Candace has used rhetoric involving: •“bankers” and global financial control •sweeping suspicion around Israel and its supporters •framing conflicts in ways that invite collective blame Those are not neutral categories. They overlap directly with historically antisemitic tropes. A Catholic is not permitted to use language that stokes suspicion toward an entire people, even indirectly. 5) Scandal: leading others into error •CCC 2284: scandal leads others into sin Candace’s platform does not stay at the level of opinion. It forms millions. When she: •normalizes unverified claims •rewards outrage over accuracy •uses contempt as rhetoric …she trains others to do the same. That is not influence. That is moral formation in the wrong direction. 6) Pride over prudence •CCC 1806 (Prudence) requires careful judgment rooted in truth Candace openly embraces provocation: •“I say things people are afraid to say.” That mindset elevates shock value over truthfulness. Catholic teaching does not praise boldness detached from truth. It requires truth disciplined by charity and reason. Conclusion A faithful Catholic witness must be: •truthful •restrained •charitable •careful with claims about others A public pattern of: •sweeping, unverified accusations •rumor amplification •coarse and contemptuous speech •rhetoric that fuels suspicion toward entire groups …is not compatible with that standard. It is not a small inconsistency. It is a systematic contradiction of Catholic moral teaching on truth, speech, and charity.
