@DsMatie 9) Finish your doctorate
10) Raise a child
11) Create a new global economic framework
12) Solve cold fusion
...ask me if I think app review timelines take too long.
English

Things you can do while waiting for your Shopify App to be approved:
1) Install analytics tools (Mixpanel, Mantle, ...)
2) Prepare emails flows to welcome your users and send email on successful actions or milestones
3) Get more user interviews (never stop)
4) Add an helpdesk, live chat and link your social medias (Crisp)
5) Write helpdesk articles on how to use your app
6) Ensure you removed test charge 👀
7) Test again all the features of your app
8) Start mass contacting influencers to try your app
What else?

@levelsio Big pic on the front is OK. It just has to be THE WHOLE FRONT. Vintage style.
English

I love making things on X because all of oyu know design better than me and with your feedback I can improve it
Nobody likes wearing BIG PIC on front clothes anymore apparently
So I cut out the man "piercing the veil" and put it on the front small, and put the main pic on the back big
Also added the text PIERCING THE VEIL in wavey font
And kept the curve of the earth as a line

@levelsio make the print at the back and on the front a more minimalistic print. much better, you might wanna test it and see for future design what better attracts people

@jameygannon We've done a bunch of code clean-ups/optimizations for brands in the exact same situation. Bigger stores/budgets usually so it's often A LOT of cleaning, but if you're still looking I'd be glad to take a look under the hood.
English

we have a lot of tech debt on our shopify site at withportal.com
built pretty scrappily over the last two years, and things are starting to break. do i know anyone that can take a peak and tell me whats going on?
I want to hire someone to clean things up, just don't know exactly what i'm looking at 🤣
English

@DsMatie Was just thinking about this. On a call, when I hear someone say 'I think we should...'. I'm always triggered. I'm ready for the next bit to be a judgement call, no data, made too quick or too much from the gut.'
English

Don't make irrational decisions because you "want to"
Back it up with data. I do X because Y.
Good examples:
✅I change my onboarding because activation rate is low
✅ I change my main image on the app store because my installation rate is low
✅ I remove a link in my dashboard to remove friction because only 0,5% of my users click on it so it's useless
✅ I'm adding this new feature because 7 people I interviewed out of 10 wanted it
Bad examples:
❌ I change the images on the App Store because the ones we have are ugly
❌ I stop sending this promotional email because I think it doesn't make sense
❌ I want to add this feature I think it's cool
English

@loom But if I'm recording from the desktop app, this doesn't work?
English

.@loom Is there a way to make it so that the Loom recording tab/window is fixed and doesn't keep switching if I'm browsing in another tab or window while recording?
This is a productivity killer if I'm trying to record in the background.

I’m excited to share that @Shopify has acquired @CheckoutBlocks!
From day one, our goal was to help as many Shopify merchants as possible to customize their checkouts. This acquisition allows us to succeed on an even bigger scale. What does this mean for Checkout Blocks? Only good changes ahead! As of today, we are making the Starter plan free (currently $99/mo) for all merchants on Shopify Plus. Tune into editions.dev to learn more about what I’ll be up to at Shopify!
Special thanks to everyone who supported me over the years and to the 850+ amazing Shopify Plus merchants who trusted us with customizing your checkout. We’re only just getting started!
English

@gilgNYC The things I've seen slowing this down for our big clients are legacy pixels or checkout code snippets that probably work in customer pixels, but first need deep dives on 'what the hell was this pixel in the first place and what does it do... is it even working'.

Shaking and quaking. Felt that in the Hudson Valley.

@galenking @KeiraArts @Shopify I've found the same thing on Plus, honestly. I have stores doing over $25M+ a year and have email chains that take days for responses.
English

I generally strive to be constructive and not to call people or apps out in public but what has happened to @Shopify support lately?
Look at the response I got to reopening a ticket for a significant ongoing issue.
This is patronizing and wasteful of my time. We don’t need fake pleasantries when we’re in the thick of an issue.
We need clear, concise responses that provide reassurance that you’ve “got this” and that a solution will be found.
This is so frustrating.

@felt Any thought to doing something like a Google Apps plug-in or Extension where I could easily add the Felt maps to G-sheets I'm viewing the data for on-page? I've got 100s of sheets with plot points I'd love to spot-check without leaving.
English

@DsMatie You have a doc link to this new feature? Trying to drudge up info and not finding anything.
