@OptionsSly @Kramburglar @jdcmedlock Demand returns, but there is literally not enough gas, so the price will rise again until there is forced reduction of consumption again. You're misunderstanding what is fixed in the fixed demand

@OptionsSly @Kramburglar @jdcmedlock American consumers want to buy X gallons of gas (the fixed part). Market disruption causes there to be X-10 gallons of gas, forcing reduced consumption. Tax break temp lowers the price, making people act like there are X gallons of gas again and demand goes back to fixed level

@surlygopher @MichaelLangeNYC “Outside of NY and commiefornia you can never win an election where you campaign on doing anything” is a pervasive idea killing the Democratic Party

@surlygopher @MichaelLangeNYC We’ve already done this, it’s only been a year since a general election where we tested a candidate going all in on moderate centrism after the party’s national convention. The base didn’t show up to the election and she lost every single swing state.

The New York Times conducted a focus group of 13 Democratic-leaning voters from across the country. When given a choice: 13/13 chose the "progressive" candidate. 12/13 chose the "younger" candidate. 12/13 chose the "middle-class" candidate. Who does that sound like to you?

Things like Claude are actually getting better at outputting product and will change how professionals do work in the future but the people hawking this stuff for directly “creating” games are extremely delusional.

@swayswaybb @natashakorecki AOC called for abolishing ICE in the last 24 hours. The posted tweet was her referring to action in a specific budget, not her entire stance on ICE.

@Alf954 @jratner7 My landlord pulled this exact thing on me. He returned the full amount the moment I sent the law on deadlines and said I contacted a small claims court and was going to sue

@jratner7 Appreciate that, but my sister is a lawyer so we got it covered. Landlord is fucked. She failed to provide itemized deductions in 30 days (deadline was 12/29). Only invoice she provide was for th $320 cleaning. The $3800 was a general description without detail and it was late.

Last landlord owes me $4850 in deposits due by the end of today. She just sent me $730 and took the rest as $320 for cleaning and $3800 in deductions for “paint and wall repair” …

Because forget all the begging for Battlefront 3. KoTOR. Empire at war 2. A card collection game. I've totally heard tons of people asking for that. This better not be the "Big Star Wars game announcement" that was coming soon bruh.
Star Wars@starwars

We are excited to announce we are working with Zero36 Studio and CCG Lab to develop a brand-new digital collectible card game where players can battle across the Star Wars galaxy. Stay tuned for future updates.

@RegulusEnjoyer @jeremyphoward Because Windows Search doesn't just look for file or folder names, it reads file attributes, metadata and in some cases, the content of certain files too. This is why it's slower. Windows Search and Everything are two very different pieces of software.

@fixitjake @TheFarix @FLZoo @CompletedStreet It is cheaper to drive places because we invest in car infrastructure rather than train infrastructure. If we invested in train transit from 1950 until today, you would be arguing that personal automobiles that require roads are infeasible. You don't understand the argument here.

@TheFarix @FLZoo @CompletedStreet Sounds nice but it is not economically feasible in America. Gas is cheap. Most people own cars. Air travel is more efficient. HSR is a fantasy that will never happen in America.

the issue living in the post LLM work is how nobody reviews how anything works anymore and if it even works, there’s gonna be a huge dip in domain knowledge no job safety left either, layoffs every other day so why would anyone care about any of products anyway entry level positions and junior roles are not being created, there’s no training to pass the knowledge the meme of “we dont know how to build it anymore” is going to be real AI is going to get better and better so why bother spending time understanding something when you can spin the LLM roulette for the correct implementation

@SocDoneLeft Online leftists fighting desperately to maintain the 9000 minority party status quo while DSA has figured out how to actually break into having power. One of these strategies works, the other is confined to Twitter 😐
