Cooler heads prevail

There are moments in life when words just aren’t enough. Losing Coach Holtz is one of those moments. Coach was so much more than a football coach to me. He was family. I still remember the day he came to my house to recruit me. He didn’t just sit down and talk to me about football or what I could do on the field. He talked to me as a young man. And he spoke to my mom the way a man should speak to a mother who was trusting someone with her son. He looked her in the eye and promised that I would be taken care of at Notre Dame. That moment meant everything to us, and it’s something I’ve carried with me my entire life. Coach Holtz believed in people. He believed in building men, not just players. He welcomed my entire family into the Notre Dame family and always made sure we felt that love and support. That’s who he was. He cared deeply about the people around him, and he made every one of us feel like we mattered. The lessons he taught me went far beyond football. His faith, his discipline, his belief in doing things the right way shaped who I became as a man, a father, and a leader. My heart is broken today, but I’m also filled with gratitude for the time I had with him and for the impact he had on my life. Coach will always be with us—in the lessons he taught, in the lives he changed, and in the love he gave so freely. Thank you for everything, Coach. I love you. You will forever be in our hearts. Go Irish ☘️

I always laugh at yo-yo’s who don’t have the 1st clue what information the President had that forced this decision. Entirely unsurprising that the SSPX is giving the middle finger to the Holy See and announcing it will go forward with illicit bishop consecrations in July. As a reminder, here are the three conditions the CDF presented to the SSPX in 2017 in order to be granted canonical status in the Church: "1. It is necessary to require members of the Society of Saint Pius X to adhere to the new form of the Professio fidei dating from 1988. Consequently, it is no longer sufficient to ask them to make the Professio fidei of 1962. 2. The new text of the doctrinal declaration must include a paragraph in which the signatories explicitly declare their acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and of the post-conciliar period, granting to said doctrinal affirmations the degree of assent due to them. 3. Members of the Society of Saint Pius X must recognise, not only the validity, but also the legitimacy of the Rite of the Holy Mass and the Sacraments, according to the liturgical books promulgated after the Second Vatican Council." As I've documented, the SSPX rejects the New Mass as inherently "evil" (not just harmful, but intrinsically evil), and also claims that VII contains heresy (not ambiguity, but outright heresy). Both these positions imply rejection of the indefectibility of the Church, as the Church -- the indefectible Bride of Christ -- can never formally promulgate that which is inherently evil, nor heresy. Per canon 1387, the bishops taking part in the consecrations will be excommunicated, and the SSPX will drift farther away from the Church -- something it seems to want anyway. A tragedy all around.

Thanks to gross mismanagement by Maryland's Democrat leaders, hundreds of millions of gallons of raw sewage has reportedly been dumped into the Potomac River—flowing straight through our nation's capital and endangering millions of people, wildlife, and the entire DC region's water supply. Democrats are withholding paychecks from the men and women of @dhsgov while they clean up this Democrat-created disaster. Unbelievable hypocrisy.
