I don't get it either. Jeffro cites a 1976 article, two years before AD&D was published, to argue that you "must" use time jail and force someone to play a different character if the original character is busy for X amount of time. But that's not "AD&D rules as written," that's interpreting the rules, which is what the Bros claim to NOT do as part of their view that they alone play AD&D "properly"

This is where the Bros lose me. My "interpretation" is wrong, despite being based on the actual wording in the 1e DMG, but the guy trying to say an article from two years before that book was written somehow changes the wording, is right. Either the Bros are interpreting the rules themselves, which means they aren't in fact playing "rules as written by the book brother" and are hypocrites as they claim they are the only ones playing the game "pure" (even insinuating Gary et all were not playing right), or they're just weasel-wording everything to sound intelligent.

@Nobleshield If I’m playing a DnD style game I use whatever comes in the book/campaign setting. This applies to homebrew as well.

When coming up with the religions of your homebrew setting, do you: A) Take various real-world gods and use them as-is, perhaps renaming some or adding your own (i.e., the Known World and Forgotten Realms approach) B) Pick a favorite real-world pantheon and use that whole cloth (e.g., simply using the Greek or Norse pantheon without change) C) Create your own from scratch?

I’ve introduced and forced votes on amendments to cut trillions in federal spending, including closing down entire agencies. Guess what? There are too many spineless, swamp creature Senators who won’t vote for these. So my question to anyone saying what am I doing about it? A lot. What I need is help so we have the votes to pass them. If your Senator won’t cut spending and fix our debt problem, maybe it’s time you consider finding a new Senator who will.
