One big thing about social media I learned this last year is to not allow the infighting that drama-mongers want onto my feed. I used to fight a lot when people attack me, especially those who are supposed to be on my side, because I get pretty angry about it. Part of my Spanish blood gets hot in those situations. A lot of these guys are wannabe streamers, wrtiers, artists, who don't get a lot of attention on here other than the fights they pick and so they get dopamine hits off of the likes an engagement they generate from it. What it does though is divides the audience. Any casual passerby doesn't like it, doesn't know who's fighting half of the time, and all it does is serve to turn those people off is what a lot of folk who are stuck in a rut of livestreaming to 5-30 people don't understand. No one wants to see that. They want to see us all fight the culture war together. Now I still get angry when folk do this to me, but I make sure to keep it to their comments and away from my feed to make YOUR feed better as a reader. And that's why my account has doubled followers over the past year despite so many attempts at cancelation that it's absurd. Readers get value here because we're actually fighting the culture war. Just some early morning thoughts!
