Opus is still the best performing model out there, hands down. Expensive as hell, annoying, snob, but it keeps an entire code base in context, anticipates errors, has massive well structured knowledge. It truly feels and behaves intelligent unlike the other bots out there. No wonder it's critical for the Pentagon, no wonder its the target of smear attacks from competitors. I think secret sauce is Amodei being an Engineer Founder, his studies in electrophysiology of neural circuits during his youth.
As for Musk complaining about it signals jealousy. Un muzzled, Opus is far beyond Grok in all practical and valuable uses. Build a better one, rather then smear the builder. The one thing I don't like about Anthropic is them crying wolf about Chinese models stealing data via distillation, all AI Labs stole data, from everyone just suck it up and be more competitive, the prices are prohibitive for most builders.
