Today, @PresidentPAO attended the @OWLECanada Training Day to announce a major new award category for the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement Awards Gala. The Police Association Leadership Award will recognize outstanding women leaders in police service associations who exemplify leadership by demonstrating courage, integrity, and resilience, and by guiding or mentoring other women to become involved with their police association. We're happy to be the sponsors of this award, which highlights those who advocate for gender equity, improve association services, and drive positive changes and advancement for women in the workplace.
Today on #NationalPoliceWomanDay, I want to recognize the incredible women in policing who continue to break barriers. I’ve had the honour of working alongside some remarkable women, leaders like @JaimiB12 @CstApril @OPPALynnNeale Terri Hubbert, Ellie Bale, Anne Brennan-Walsh, Andrea Lamothe and others inspire me daily. We've made progress as an association, but I know there's more work ahead to ensure policing is a truly #inclusive space for everyone. Thank you for keeping our communities safe!
We have suffered an immense loss. To our members, please lean on & take care of each other. There are supports to if you need someone to speak with. Board members, member support & external services are available to help us through as we struggle with the loss of our brother. 💙
The @PoliceAssocON has 4 strong “leading ladies” serving as presidents of their local associations. I’m inspired by their advocacy and passion for representing and supporting their members. It was great to catch up with them this week at our #PAOAGM2023
