@CherylSchatz I think they had only known good, and not evil or calamity in any measure whatsoever.

@wordsofthislife I think the Holy Spirit has already clearly defined “My Fathers house” in John 2:16. Perhaps it should be understood that way in Jn. 14… also “mone” as “mansions” is questionable at best

@janetticonfeti7 You seem to be using this reply to lots of people pointing out the same thing... maybe you should amend your first statement to remove where you wrote:
"Paul uses two sets of colons"
English

I agree that the earliest Greek manuscripts didn’t use punctuation the way our English Bibles do. My point wasn’t to argue that Paul physically wrote colons. My point is that the KJV translators punctuated the passage in a way that reflects what they understood to be Paul’s train of thought.
Whether you agree with that or not, the larger point remains: Paul repeatedly makes a statement and then explains or expands on it. That’s what I was trying to highlight. The punctuation simply helped me slow down and notice the flow of his argument.

Another observation that has stood out to me is the punctuation. In Romans 7:18–20 (KJV), Paul uses two sets of colons. He doesn’t simply make a statement and move on—he explains what he means.
In verse 18, Paul says, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:” Then, after the colon, he explains why: “for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.”
The same pattern continues in verse 19. Paul states the issue and then explains it after the colon: “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.”
By the time we reach verse 20, Paul draws his conclusion: “Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.”
The punctuation helps us slow down and follow Paul’s reasoning. He doesn’t leave the reader guessing what he means—he explains his statements step by step, building his argument as he goes.

@_jonbowlin @rootcausesleuth @_jonbowlin is correct. When God is described as “the Living God”, it is meant to contrast Him, the one true God with the idols who are not living. And I don’t agree with Jon on much lol

@ferrismattic If “aidios”, used 2X in the NT, means “eternal”, then how are the bonds “eternal” in Jude 6? Also, what of the adjective “aionios”?

@cdotharrison France is the 1990s USA basketball dream team and they will win the WC.

@SlowToWrite True. An idiotic yellow that ruined Swiss chances at a semi.

@SlowToWrite Argentina/England will be epic. But no one will beat France. France are the 1990s USA basketball dream team.

@aaronehasz @Citibank How about a little accountability 🤡 Not the banks fault you put yourself in a compromising position. Embarrassing the lack of ownership from your actions
English

Shame on @citibank for allowing a loophole to auto-approve charges under $15 -- allowing a thief to rapidly fraudulently charge $14 to my wife TWO THOUSAND TIMES. Really, your system can't detect that a thousand repeated charges might be fraud?
