Pillar 1 is tests in hospitals. This is published. Pillar 2 is tests from drive through centres and home testing kits done by commercial labs. This is not made public. Leicester was only given this data very late in the day. 2/3

@hilarybennmp My conclusion is obfuscation. Their strategy-to create the illusion of having got on top of #Covid19UK when clearly they have not. They compounded a too late lockdown by an early ‘do your own thing’ release in England. They want people to work, spend and sadly reality strikes!!

I live right next to a newly locked-down suburb in Melbourne. I have canceled all plans for my 50th birthday. I’ll lock down again if asked. Why? Cos when I left London in March, the UK had 140 deaths. They now have over 40,000. I’d rather be safe.
