The US has no excuse for failing at soccer. It is 100% a skill issue. Basketball, American football and soccer do not share demographics, there is no overlap, let the tall 2m+ focus on the first, the fat on the second and the rest on third

The average NFL play lasts about 4 seconds.
The average baseball play lasts around 6 seconds.
Basketball and hockey are much closer to soccer in terms of continuous action, but they’re played in much smaller spaces, making them more explosive.
Point is, in American sports, athletic traits like speed, power, and strength have a bigger influence on performance.
Soccer is different. It is played over a much larger field, requires continuous decision-making and endurance, and is played with the feet.
Even if you took the country’s best athletes and gave them six months, they would not be close to the world’s best soccer players. And it would take much more than just “caring.”
