@LeinsterClub England so close but absolute panic stations in that move, Pollock did so well to win the ball and then that butchered hack through...Dawson calls it the "Mush", pressure plus tiredness. Gutted for Ireland, 60 seconds from a very unlikely Championship.

Something I’ve noticed about myself this season: I’m constantly on my phone while Liverpool are playing. Not the occasional glance either, proper second screen behaviour. Match on the tv, phone in hand, scrolling while the game carries on in the background. And every week I end up asking myself the same question: what’s going on here? Have I suddenly developed ADHD? Has years of short form content and endless scrolling completely destroyed my attention span, or more worryingly, am I starting to fall out of love with football? Because it definitely didn’t used to be like this. I could sit through a dull 0–0 years ago and still be completely locked in. Every phase of play felt like it mattered, every attack carried a bit of tension, and even when nothing was happening it still felt like something might happen. Now I sit down with every intention of properly watching the match. Phone down next to me. Five minutes later I’m somehow halfway through a video about someone restoring a lawnmower from the 1980s. I look back up and realise I’ve missed several minutes of football, yet the game seems to be exactly where it was before. Centre back to full back. Back inside. Across the back line. Back to the goalkeeper. Switch sides. Reset. By the time we finally reach the edge of the box my attention has already drifted somewhere else. And that’s when the other thought creeps in. Maybe it’s not my brain. Maybe it’s not TikTok or shrinking attention spans. Maybe I still love football exactly the same as I always have. Maybe Liverpool are just a bit boring to watch this season. Everything feels very controlled, very safe, very calculated. Lots of possession, lots of recycling the ball, lots of patient build up but not always much urgency or unpredictability. It can feel like we’re carefully managing a game rather than actually grabbing hold of it.

@GeoffNorcott @AndrewGold_ok What pisses me off is that if 98% of comedians are left wing and you are the only one that is not, there are only 50 comedians... I like having you on shows etc as you bring a bit of a balance. I mean the country is f*cked but we need other opinions while we go up in flames.

Thank you for taking the time to destroy me using science. I especially loved how concisely you did it.
Ian Botes | DPU Founder@RealIanBotes

I have some time, so let's destroy Juliet's argument using actual science real quick: If everyone in your surrounding area tells you they believe something, and most of the media as well as literature you consume affirms that belief, you will eventually incorporate it into your identity And once you do, anyone who disagrees with your new found identity you are highly unlikely to listen to, due to your confirmation bias, and the echo-chamber you reside in Like how telling a mother with a rare psychological illness that makes her believe she's pregnant, when its her brain playing tricks on her, she's not pregnant, will be psychologically traumatizing, because it contradicts her entire identity So too will someone who went through the initially explained social phenomenon, not be able to change their mind This is a result of confirmation bias, not objective fact Religion, Polyamory, Consumers of a product, Swifties etc. And ofcourse, getting a PhD falls into this category as well Which means if you decide to do something (anything), its not because you thought about it logically and analyzed all possible consequences for your actions, its because you were influenced by your surroundings to form a certain frame of reference for your purpose in life (or whatever you're doing since this does not only talk about the problem at hand) The rhetoric being spread here is not sexism or "virgins", or "incels", or whatever keywords you're feeding yourself The real issue men seem to be attacking Juliet for, is not realizing that on average, 60-70% of women who thought they don't want children before 30, change their mind With 23-33% of women in their 40s regretting not prioritizing it in their 20s (typically after reproduction problems from 30 onward) This is US and Europe Data So no, men aren't attacking you, they are attacking your ideology Which I might add, is a result of societal programming, as I've explained in detail above List of bias that led you on this path: Authority Bias Cognitive Bias Confirmation Bias The Illusory Effect Survivorship Bias.. And a well established echo-chamber that you can clearly see in the comment section in every single post you've made about this argument thus far Who is right and who is wrong? Education is important, but so is not being naive thinking you are one of the outliers who will somehow not get the evolutionary instinct to have a child (we've ran the percentages above based on actual scientific research) And incase your were not aware, thinking you're smart because you have a PhD is also a societal indoctrination I mean PhDs are a social construct, as are all qualifications + institutional prestige The only reason we have table manners, or society think degrees are important are the same.. Its because they realized it serves us to believe that, so they started spreading the rhetoric that its expected of everyone And just like all social constructs, there comes a day it no longer serves humanity to delude yourself into chasing a naming convention people literally made up in the past 100 years to award people with higher social status (and supposed intellect) The Elites made you think this is a good idea, not your nature Men are arguing that if you were not programmed by conventional educational institutions and their followers, you would have prioritized having a child With is objectively correct No human being can escape their nature in the absence of indoctrination My advice to you and your little echo-chamber of "yes men", is this.. Use science to determine your next course of action (crazy that I'm saying this to someone with a PhD) But this is what happens when you are not taught social dynamics at institutions running on cognitive bias Notice how I made no jab at you (none I didn't scientifically prove) THAT, is the scientific method Fascinating how you have no idea how to use it to determine if your behavior is your own, otherwise we would not be having this conversation Am I attacking you? No, I'm using science to explain why you have no idea what you're doing Regardless, I wish you well, because if you got a PhD, it means you at least have the ability to sit down and figure out how to solve problems, which means you'll be fine In 10 years from now will you be crying your eyes out because you realized too late you want children? Only time will tell (you already threw the dice, goodluck)

The one, the only, the amazing Florence Pugh is in the house ladies and gentlemen. I THOUGHT SHE WAS AMERICAN before I prepped the interview, that’s how out of it I am, but also how amazing SHE IS with her accents and her ability to disappear into roles. Midsommar? Little Women? The Wonder? Lady Macbeth? Don’t Worry Darling? Black Widow??? All stand-out performances. We dip into these and other roles and also find out a little bit about the woman behind them. Enjoy! And you’re welcome! You can find the LTP on Spotify.

@robprogressive It depends what your definition of the rich is...top 20% of earners is those earning over £55k according to some sources. That is anything but rich, but doubtless still classified as "rich" by the Government for increased tax purposes. Crazy

Everyone screaming tax the rich, but the top 1% of UK taxpayers now pay 33% of all income tax That’s just 500,000 people contributing £93.8 BILLION in the 2024 tax year Lat that sink it. So when Labour talk about ‘making the rich pay their fair share’… They already are. In fact, they’re paying everyone else’s share too Keep hammering high earners, entrepreneurs & business owners, & they’ll KEEP leaving Dubai, Monaco, Portugal are all rolling out the red carpet And the budget looks like it will only get worse The UK doesn’t need higher taxes, it needs spending wastage cut, better incentives to build & invest & a full cultural shift AWAY from the politics of envy

@DanielHussey2 Tom Farrell put his hand up very high for squad selection even before this game. Then he literally put it up for his try. Baffling omission. Narrow losses to two of three SH teams coming with Ireland.

Make absolutely no mistake, that was a seismic win in Irish Rugby yesterday. Munster went to Croke Park as 15 point underdogs and absolutely battered Leinster. Meanwhile, Andy Farrell has 21 Leinster players in his Irish squad for November.
