In a significant step to bolster global cybersecurity, DC3 had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) Cyber Security Situation Centre. The discussions focused on digital forensic laboratory capabilities and workflows.

Leseyl Bernys, Executive Director of @DC3Forensics, made one point clear: cybercrime is a national security threat, not just an IT issue. As cyber threats evolve, so must the defense. He highlighted the increasingly sophisticated and persistent adversaries targeting our nation's defense and stressed that speed, precision and coordination are essential to staying ahead. DC3 delivers advanced digital forensics, cyber analytics and law enforcement support to detect, disrupt and deter malicious activity before it impacts the mission. 👉 Follow #CyberTalks for more session highlights.

Jeffrey Hunt, global operations branch chief at the @DC3Forensics, discussed challenges in navigating cybercrime and intelligence. He outlined how cybercriminals increasingly leverage virtual currencies, enabling fast, cross-border movement of illicit funds that is resistant to traditional financial controls, with reduced reliance on traditional banking and automated obfuscation and laundering. He also noted the expansion beyond small-scale crime to large-scale money laundering and sanctions evasion at the organization and nation-state level. The session highlighted identifying key entities such as service providers and exchanges, referring leads to partner agencies and supporting target identification, evidence locations and legal process. 👉 Follow #CyberTalks for more session highlights.
