@Skepticalfa @718Tv That’s a great graphic! I don’t know that they’re easier, but the American “pyramid of honor” has evolved significantly since the world wars. Some of the awards seen on World War II generals were established in the 1920’ 30’s. it has changed again post GWOT.

@718Tv There was once a long-standing practice in the US Army for General Officers to prescribe their own uniforms with wide latitude. This ended in decades after World War II. This is a part of why Patton can sometimes be seen in riding pants.
