@HudsonKerry @lccsa I’ve actually had a scenario where we’ve been calling periodically for hours without answer, only to be accused of lying about it by custody staff when they’ve answered the phone. Incredible!

Is anybody measuring the number of unanswered calls by solicitors into custody suites? Why are the police not on KPIs when solicitors have to make contact with detainees within 45 mins? I can't remember the last time I was genuinely able to speak to a detainee in this timeframe

So the only “Nightingale Court” in London that will be doing crime is Prospero House on Borough High Street. Just a stone’s throw from Blackfriars Crown court, a clean, spacious and functioning court building that the MoJ sold off and closed 7 months ago.... 🤷🏻♂️

UK courts are now facing a backlog of over 500,000 cases, as the COVID-19 shutdown intensified an already dire situation, according to new data. The Ministry of Justice said there were 484,000 outstanding cases in the magistrates' courts by May 17 in England and Wales - a 22%/1
