Last day on @KIKNCountry for JD Collin’s before retirement. He’s been top notch from the time I was a little kid! Always knowledgeable on the ag sector, shoots big deer and still plays the 90’s country. One of the good ones!

AI heifers are half done and the first group of cows are starting. Thankful for this beautiful weather and I’m thankful for the blessing it is to work with my dad every day!

Bred heifers are in the barn. Won’t be long and it will be wild around here.

@kmcsween @scottwestacre So right now there is 90 head in there. The first day (like last Thursday) I put in 4 bales. Then I’ll put 2 in every 2-3 days depending on how it looks. When we get rolling on cows I’ll usually put a couple in everyday when we have 150 or so in.

@scottwestacre We run them in before dark in the evening unless it’s real nice out- and kick them out right away in the morning. We only have 90 head in there right now so it’s not horribly crowded. Very nice in bad weather.

@KathyFortune9 It’s been a dream. My dad dreamed about it for years and got it at age 65 and I’m fortunate enough to use it at 33!

@clintwfischer I would say 70% of our bull customer base is under 50 yrs old- which is encouraging to me. I cannot say what is driving this, however now that livestock are worth a lot I’ve noticed it’s now “cool” to own them. I’ve particularly noticed it on the sheep side the past year.

Haven't been on X for a few months, but have been doing a bunch of speaking events this fall/winter. Mainly farm events, but I did one for west-river ranchers about a month ago. Something interesting I noticed... The average age of the 200+ ranchers at that event was MUCH younger than the average age of those attending the various farm events. What's driving that?

If you have a good Farm house plan I would love to see it. That way in 30 years maybe I can afford it.

We need a website with “actual farm house” house plans- instead of all this “modern farmhouse” plans…. They don’t know what a real mud room really is lol
