I’ll have a video soon but I am happy with how the Rivian R2 BMS behaved. Very confidence inspiring. Little teaser images from testing tonight. I don’t have the intestinal fortitude to run it to dead but I did my best.

@bremic9188 I believe some states require they provide a mobile charger, so they probably made the manual based on those.

R2 owners manual - why do they call out the portable charger (that isn't included) in the frunk? There's no specific place for it there.

@Hilbe Just because they’re not ready or don’t want early adopter issues shown to the world doesn’t mean those stories shouldn’t get out there. People are paying full price for this product, if there are problems people need to know

There’s a reason the first R2 went to employees. Now that there are many R2 in the field, Rivian is getting real-world product feedback. Ongoing design/manufacturing tweaks will happen - we probably will even see some small changes in the newer R2s delivered. This is all normal (pun intended) for a brand new vehicle. IMO, I don’t think Rivian is ready for the media to comb over these early R2 units and/or have early adopter issues broadcast to the world. However, now that there are about 4,000 units made, we can probably expect that a few will go to the media.

Tonight I will see how the Rivian R2 behaves at and below 0 percent SoC @Out_of_Spec style. Video to follow later.

@Hilbe As an owner who wants people to make informed decisions, I’ve been sharing as much as I can about the car. They really set the bar high, but there are certainly some minor issues that they’ll want to fix prior to the general viewing public seeing the cars reviewed long term.
