I believe $TAO offers an asymmetric downside here. ~15-17% annual inflation with no mechanism of burn or buybacks. Runway and overhead costs unknown. Significant supply overhang from DCG, Chamath, Jason, Polychain, OTC between desks & other entities. Need new marginal buyers at current price. Majority of subnets have failed to gain traction and have already gone to $0. Hacks occured on a few of them. Real revenue figures are relatively unknown - majority of revenue is subsidized by $TAO token emissions. Revenue mix is hard to figure out and obscured w/subnets leasing compute to other subnets. Marketing with a similar mechanic of Kaito AI. Can create buzz but not sticky and conversion rate can be poor.

$TAO holders, how much did the TAO foundation pay for marketing - surely Raoul Pal, Virtual Bacon, etc. didn’t make content for free? I haven’t found an answer - for a peer comp, Polkadot paid $37M a yr for it. Better yet, what are the overall operating expenses for the TAO foundation? How much are they paying for their staff, management, travel & entertainment, etc. It’s all reasonable right? It’s not being plundered to enrich themselves or anything like that right?
