@mpr_reviews @aziebert Can you also test if there is any difference between gen5 x8 and x16?

Ran a quick test at 1440p Very High, DLSS Balanced, RTAO on. PCIE Gen 4 x 16 = 99 fps PCIE Gen 5 x 16 = 109 fps So basically a 10% improvement by going to PCIE Gen 5. I saw similar gains when @aziebert and I tested Doom: TDA PCIE Gen 5 vs Gen 4.

@CapFrameX @AeonMW2 I just started watching like 1 replay in dota2, didnt touch anything and after about 10 min OSD started showing invalid numbers for 1% and 0,1% lows. No capturing at all.

@DOer_R @AeonMW2 How much time minimum must you capture to get this behavior?

@CapFrameX @AeonMW2 I restarted computer and everything, started dota2, captured 2 benchmark - first shows correct values, the second doesn't. I also enabled overlay during capturing and it showed correct values -above 100 fps. But now that i alt tabbed back to game overlay also shows wrong numbers

@CapFrameX @AeonMW2 Yes, even without recording i get invalid low metrics. I am using latest version 1.77. I posted darktide graph because it literally happened during benchmark run otherwise i would post similiar graph as user above me.

@DOer_R @AeonMW2 Recording 0.5h gameplay is a serious stress test for the application. It's not recommended to capture more than a few minutes. Better split it into smaller intervals. So the question is, do you get invalid low metrics on the overlay even without capturing game play?

@CapFrameX @AeonMW2 I also get some weird results. After some time 1% lows and 0.1% lows just stop working correctly even though games work fine. They just show numbers like 3 FPS or 1 FPS or they get stuck on some low numbers.

@CapFrameX Did you try updating chipset drivers? I had way more stutters than i should in some games before. After i upgraded chipset drivers,some games run way smoother now.

AMD has finally updated their review guide with the 7700X! - AMD's own internal testing found that the 9700X is just 5% faster than the 7700X for gaming. - AMD's selection of games is very odd, they benchmarked 34 games, just 4 of which were released in the last 2 years. - AMD sponsored games which are CPU limited such as Starfield were not included. - AMD almost exclusively tested older games using the built-in benchmark which generally aren't that CPU demanding. The point is, best case on average the 9700X is 5% faster than the 7700X for gaming. Some people are pointing me to reviews with 10% average gains or higher, claiming we got it wrong... well not according to AMD.
