@brettachapman It always struck me as odd that in high school in modern day New Mexico, I got classes in French, but not in any of the indigenous languages.

I think every Native American language should be made the official language of the U.S. There’s not really any valid reason why they shouldn’t be considering English is a foreign language to this land

@the_transit_guy Here a picture of the scrapping train, next to the depot in the tiny, tiny “town” I live in way up in the mountains of CO. We HAD daily+ passenger service. We removed it. And this happened all over the US. Absolutely bonkers. We should rebuild it.

Who still plays with trains? THIS GUY. If you know, you know how much fun I was having today. 🤣 The gauge block I turned on the lathe was supposed to be 2.50”. It ended up at 2.5003”. I’ll take that for only having an old Atlas 9” with no DRO and a crappy tool holder!

@mikenarrowgauge That’s a little over 7 microns! That’s VERY in tolerance. Especially since it’s just a gauge block so that we can put it between the crosshead guides and measure the error with feeler gauges.

Trump on tariffs: Our greatest wealth probably proportionately was in the 1880s.. we had so much much money all from tariffs… then you had the depression. A lot of people said tariffs caused it. They didn't, tariffs came in 1932 after the depression.
