When I was a Police and Crime Commissioner, I wanted to have the vehicles used to fly-tip seized, and crushed. Why return a tool used to commit a criminal offence, I thought?. The local authorities were not really interested. Reasons ranged from, It cost too much, it's not our responsibility but the police's, 'what if the owners track the vehicle and smash up the storage yard?'. It soon died a death. If local authorities are unwilling to pursue this, it will always pay to destroy our environment and neighbourhoods this way.

@thameswater Yes signage that can be seen when heading south towards Hackney Road says 6th, that was what indicated to me it should have been completed. It was the only signage with a date that I saw.
