If anyone from senior management in Premier Inn reads this, I urge you to book a stay at London Blackfriars and see for yourself how poor the service is.

I firmly believe that the Premier Inn does not care about its customers.

@premierinn What does a customer have to do, to have a basic service need met?

@premierinn Ok, since I put the original post up, we have been staying at the Premier Inn Blackfriars 3 days. Each day we requested our room to be freshened. It has never been touched at all. Same towels, bin not emptied, no fresh tea or clean cups.

@premierinn Your system of having to request a room service on a daily basis is terrible. I am currently staying in Blackfriars and we requested a room service which never happened. Why can’t you express your wish to have the room serviced when you check in?

@currys I have requested a return of a TV after you failed to deliver to the store when you said you would. I have been assured through your customer services that the refund will be processed. Despite this ‘assurance’ I still haven’t had a refund.

@Turbinetraveler Speed tape is effective as a temporary repair but it should be applied properly. Not sure that’s happening in this case.

A Spirit Airlines passenger reportedly demanded a refund after spotting a mechanic apply duct tape to the aircraft. Customer: “Just give me my money back.” In reality, this is speed tape — a certified aviation tape commonly used for temporary exterior repairs until permanent maintenance is performed.

Tornado ADV AO2 - The Tornado was pretty much around from teh day I joined the RAF to the day I left - I never flew the GR1/4. Was it good .. well it wasn't bad it did what it was designed for - unmatched at Low Level High speed and a super accurate Gun -

@BlickyIan And then in November another two F3 squadrons took over until the end of the war. Don’t care what anyone says, the F3 was an effective aircraft and retired too soon. Still have a copy of your book of aircraft pictures from then. It captures the period very well indeed.

In August 1990 with Zero warning the RAF deployed 2 Squadrons of Tornado F3s to Dhahran in days - soon after Jaguars Tornado GR1s. Pumas , C130s Tristars and VC10 tankers were in the Gulf - Then Victors and Buccaneers - we had zero pre plan idea but we did it -

This is probably a stupid question but can someone explain it to me like I’m 5. If Iran blocks off the Persian Gulf/Strait of Hormuz, why can’t countries must move their oil through The Red Sea/Gulf of Aden?

@OnDisasters F4 Phantoms had a fold out metal bar to stop the pilots lever from being retarded due to the G force of a cat launch.

Air Safety #OTD by Francisco Cunha
F-18 carrier launch (note how the pilot keeps his hand OFF the yoke until he's airborne to prevent G-force of the cat shot from causing them to pull back on the stick) Once it's all set, depending on aircraft weight and conditions, it will take about two seconds to cover the deck´s 300 feet and reach 160 knots in 2 seconds, while the pilot is hit by 3-4 Gs. I´ve seen this often compared to F1 car performance: do note the F1 car IS NOT built for top acceleration - F1 cars are built to, within a set of rules, to have the better lap time around a track, not just speed. As a comparison, a top fuel dragster can outpace an F-18 catapult launch*, because the dragster is built just for that: fastest acceleration from a standing start. BUT with one note: it can´t fly! 😎

The SNP has confirmed its full list of candidates for the upcoming Holyrood Election - and it includes 12 failed former MPs who have already been voted out of office by Scots. There are two current MPs standing as well, with Stephen Flynn and Stephen Gethins abandoning their constituents down in Westminster to work in Edinburgh instead. While nine of those voted out at the General Election were deemed popular enough within the nationalist party to get constituency seats, three are relying on the list. Ousted Edinburgh MPs Tommy Sheppard and former soap star Deidre Brock are one and two on the newly formed Edinburgh and Lothians East region. Former cop Allan Dorans has a slim to nil chance of picking up another taxpayer-funded salary as he is 10th on the South Scotland list. These former MPs have been affectionately nicknamed FILTH – Failed In London, Try Holyrood as they try to enter frontline politics again.

@Indycyclist Actually SNP donors and members are the victims, I'm one of them. Not those two.

The SNP are the victims in this case. Don't let any unionist tell you differently. It is the SNP that suffered financially if the charges are true. This is the start of a smear campaign against the SNP as we predicted. But the SNP party are the victims. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/f…
