@Card007Teri Same as it ever was. Railways, water, energy, education, security, postal service, healthcare, new innovations (see graphene) it doesn't matter what it is, they sell it off. They don't even fucking own it. Look up the colloquialism 'daylight robbery', for enlightenment of Tories.

Have people figured out yet that when Blue Labour's Rachel Reeves bangs on about economic growth, it is not those at the bottom who are meant to benefit? If you systematically cut the welfare state to the point of no return, you are literally deploying Social Darwinism and democide as policy. Background to how the fuck we ended up with a right wing Labour Party In the 1970's right-wing free market think tanks were sharing papers on IQ racism that crossed the Atlantic to the UK. These were collectively referred to as the 'war of ideas'. The London IEA (founded 1955) was one such think tank that embraced neoliberal theories on IQ racism and Social Darwinism, this was at extreme odds with the social democratic variety of managed capitalism post WWII. The IEA published an essay called the Black Papers in 1970, which was widely shared in Tory circles. Margaret Thatcher praised the Black Papers as a counter to the student protests of 1968 and the 'wrong headed ideology of equality'. The Black Papers' "common theme was the claim that educational standards had declined as a result of modern teaching methods, the philosophy of liberal education, and the introduction of comprehensive schools" They specifically addressed: Progressive Education Methods - The Papers criticized what they saw as excessive progressive teaching approaches, particularly those associated with the Plowden Report philosophy Comprehensive School System - They opposed the rapid introduction of comprehensive schools and the abandonment of selective education Grammar School Selection - While not completely opposed to grammar schools, they "criticised selection for grammar schools at the age of eleven and advocated it should be delayed until children were at least thirteen years of age" University Standards - They "criticised the student sit-ins which were damaging the reputation of British universities" Academic Standards - The papers argued for maintaining rigorous academic standards and traditional teaching methods Teacher Training and Methods - They questioned modern pedagogical approaches and teacher preparation. In 1974, the IEA (a registered charity) received £100,000 from plastics mogul Nigel Vinson who, along with Thatcher and Keith Joseph would cofound the Centre for Policy Studies. At the same time a psychologist by the name of Richard Lynn proposed co-opting The British Eugenics Society by merging it with the Centre for Policy Studies, that merge failed, but their research was carried over to the new think tank. And here we are in 2025. Labour is pushing through policies of misery and suffering, while siding with crazy millionaires and billionaires demands for zero regulation, laws as services, and who want nothing more than to set up feudal enclaves all over the UK, turning green spaces into 'nature's assets for the likes of US Blackrock. Zoning entails privatising all public infrastructure, evicting people from their homes with compulsory purchase orders, violently shutting down protest and dissent to ludicrous dystopian ends. Labour is accepting gifts and donations from these oligarchic ghouls, against the backdrop of a live-streamed genocide. What I'm getting at here is the current iteration of the Labour Party is beholden to the most vile, and disgusting neoliberal extermination Nazi policies, incubated over decades by right-wing economists, philosophers, and psychologists who despised the post-war Social Contract so much that they started taking money from corporations for what? To shape hard-hitting policies that would demonise and punish the vulnerable while making the rich even richer by not taxing their wealth. This Labour Govt is anti-governance through and through, it is a highly marketised corporate racket, a Death Machine.

22 years ago today, we learned the name Rachel Corrie when an Israeli army bulldozer crushed her to death in Gaza. However, few know the story of how both Caterpillar and the British state then spied on her grieving family and friends to protect Israel.

John Prescott’s funeral is a moment to reflect on his legacy with those that loved him most. He will be remembered for standing up for working people, fighting for what he believed in, and changing Britain for the better. Today we give thanks for a remarkable life well lived.

We have to do things differently. I'm instructing the NHS to fix the fundamentals. It needs to deliver on patients’ priorities – shorter waiting times, being able to get a GP appointment and ambulances that arrive on time. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/2…

Everything this bald fuck says is wrong. Millionaires don't drive "economic opportunity", they don't pay a "disproportionate amount of tax", and more business psychos in the government is the absolute last thing we need.

Trump has said many dumb things in the past, but his latest statement that the Soviets "helped" the Americans win WW2 topped it all off. The Soviets didn’t "help" the Americans win WW2. The Soviets stormed Berlin alone and won the war. For those who try to rewrite history: The Soviet flag was raised over the Reichstag building in Berlin, not the American flag. Get that in your heads.
