American is a healthy 28 year old, he decided to skip paying for health insurance this year because the cheapest plan was $900 per month with a high deductible He had to spend 2 nights in the ER without insurance, he breaks down the bill “This is my receipt from spending 2 days in the hospital: - It totaled about $24,000 - My CT scan alone was $8,300 - Laboratory, 6,000 - IV therapy, $1,020, $4,000 in total And while $24,000 seems like a lot of money, let me show you something. This is what I'm actually paying, $2,478 because when you don't have insurance, these hospitals give you a discount. They discounted $22,000 off of this bill” “But if I had insurance, I wouldn't have gotten that discount. So it would've been a $24,000 bill billed to my insurance, and then my insurance would've said, ‘Hey, you have a $5,000 deductible. You need to pay $5,000 for this last emergency room visit.’ Then you tack on the $900 a month that I'd be paying for that insurance. I'd be paying $20K this year for healthcare. So the craziest part about this is even if I have another hospital visit, by the end of this year, I'm still gonna be paying less than I would if I had insurance. At minimum, my cost for healthcare this year would've been $20,000 with insurance. Right now I'm at $2,400.” US Health Insurance is a scam

We are now 3 weeks into a 2 day war with no end in sight. Are you an oil & gas E&P employee trying to figure out how much money you’ll make as a result of the Middle East debacle? Not enough foresight to attend business school like the pompous Land Interns at your company? I’m here to help. Detailed financial breakdown below 👇 ▫️The Full Hedge▫️ Did you recently receive a company-wide email sharing the exciting news that your company is transitioning to a new accounting system? Bad news. You’re fully hedged. You can look forward to receiving 112% of your target AIP. (It got dragged down by the Safety bucket.) ▫️The Half Hedge▫️ Do you work with a bunch of go getters but still have a rig schedule filled with wells named after your Geologist’s cat? You are 50% hedged. Times are good. You’re about to get 153% of target on your AIP and a discretionary LTI grant that will be worth half its value when it finally vests. ▫️Full Exposure▫️ Is your CEO under the age of 35 with a diploma from a high school where tuition was more than your current salary? Congratulations. Your CFO didn’t learn about hedging because his time at SMU was spent partying instead of studying for his derivatives class. You’re fully exposed to the upside. I would tell you to start shopping for boats, but they will get raffled off at this year’s Christmas Party anyway. The water level at the lake this summer may be low, but vibes are high. Where is oil headed?

A bartender in Galveston, Texas was arrested for serving a drunk customer who killed someone. She makes $25 an hour. A federal judge makes $236,000 a year and has absolute legal immunity for every decision on the bench, including releasing violent offenders who kill again. 42 states have dram shop laws. The bartender’s causation chain has two links: pour drink, person crashes. Exposed window? Sometimes three hours. She can be charged with criminal negligence, sued in civil court, and lose her livelihood. All for failing to eyeball whether a guy at a crowded bar was too drunk for one more round. The judge has a pre-sentencing report, a criminal history score, a risk assessment algorithm, victim impact statements, and a prosecutor arguing the case in front of them. Every tool the system can produce. And when they get it wrong? Nothing. Absolute judicial immunity, codified since Bradley v. Fisher in 1871, means a judge cannot be sued for any act performed in judicial capacity. How absolute? In 1978, the Supreme Court ruled in Stump v. Sparkman that a judge who signed a petition to sterilize a 15-year-old girl without her knowledge or consent was fully immune. The court acknowledged the act was reprehensible. Didn’t matter. Judicial act, judicial immunity, case closed. That precedent still controls today. The recidivism data is where this gets obscene. The U.S. Sentencing Commission tracked violent offenders released in 2010 across eight years. 63.8% were rearrested. Median time to rearrest: 16 months. These numbers haven’t moved in two decades. The 2005 cohort and the 2010 cohort produced statistically identical outcomes. Judges aren’t making unpredictable calls. They’re making well-documented bets with other people’s lives, and the base rates have been published and available the entire time. The bartender gets three hours of ambiguous signals. The judge gets the full weight of the federal data apparatus. One of them can go to prison for getting it wrong. The other can’t even be named in a civil suit.

If bartenders can go to jail for over-serving alcohol to someone who then kills another person, judges should go to jail for releasing criminals who do the same.

Young conservative woman picks apart MSNBC contributor’s claim that more guns = more gun violence TIM MILLER: “I think it’s basically the guns.” WOMAN: “First of all… almost 50% of all homicides caused by guns are in cities where the gun per capita is much lower.” “Secondly, I’d like to bring up that from the 1990s to the early 2000s, we had a major decrease in homicides by guns, but we had an increase of guns by nearly 50%.” MILLER: “We had an assault weapons ban during that time.” “The pro-gun side in this country is always trying to cut and dissect the demographics down… The only reason you can do that kind of statistics is that we have so many fricking gun deaths in this country.” “I don’t know why we have to come up with other convoluted reasons why we have all these deaths in this country.” WOMAN: “First of all, I think that fatherless homes is a big part of it… 76% of people who commit violent acts come from fatherless homes.” “Additionally, I think a second problem that we have is releasing criminals back into the street. It’s our criminal justice system.” “The majority, 76% of people who cause violent crimes in the United States have a criminal record of some sort.” “So we need to stop releasing people back to the streets.” TIM MILLER: “I agree.”

I rewatched James O’Keefe’s Los Angeles investigation of NGOs paying the homeless for signatures I found something insane - The NGO this is happening at is Weingart Center - Weingart Center has gotten hundreds of millions from Gavin Newsom - These people are REGISTERING THE HOMELESS TO VOTE - The NGO is providing the homeless with an address on the form when registering them to vote (It’s not the address for the homeless person registering) So what’s happening here is, - Gavin Newsom is approving this NGO hundreds of millions of dollars - They go out and register all the skyrocketing homeless population to vote - They provide the address so they can easily ballot harvest all these ballots for Democrats This is a racket Even worse, James O’Keefe found one of the employees teaching the homeless how to lie “Weingart employee advises the homeless on how to practice plausible deniability and ignorance of the law”

When you make it to the big stage, be ready. Picture the scene. The AG of Texas on trial with twenty articles of impeachment. The entire Texas Senate is seated as the jury. The Lt. Gov. is acting as the judge. This is your time to shine. You’ve got limited time. You can’t get bogged down. This is the “impeachment” team they brought against General Paxton. It. Fell. Flat. Justice prevailed.

This morning, I watched the sunrise from the patio at my family’s lake house. (Travis) The sun danced across the ripples in the pool. (Infinity) Senior year. Business Ethics class. Self-proctored exam. Took the boat out for a glassy cruise on the water. (Pavati) “No Wake Zone” (Optional) Returned with the exam lingering. (Quizlet) The oil & gas business has taught me that high horsepower decisions rely on high high horsepower morals. Celebrations happen at the family home in Telluride. (Deserved) Self reflection happens at the lake.
