@brotherthermal According to the guy they said they did not see him, and that he is not a patient. Which is the exact response you are meant to have.....

BREAKING: I went to this exact location today, the knee specialist, Dr. Kramer’s office, confirmed that DID NOT see Conor and that he IS NOT a patient of theirs. I checked the other 3 offices there that anyone could go to for “knee issues” none of them had him as a patient.

@WadePlem @Buck_Dancer12 But it is a violation if they confirm someone was there. So the only option is to say no??? If he was there, they can only say no records on him. If he wasn't there, they can only say no records on him. you get the same answer regardless if he was or wasn't there.

@WadePlem @Buck_Dancer12 None of the doctors would be able to confirm if they did see him due to it being a violation of law, So the only legal response is denying seeing him. Do you not understand that's how it works?

@Buck_Dancer12 That is a medical plaza lol not the knee specialist office. 2. I walked into the 3 offices that potentially could have seen him for a knee problem, ALL of them denied seeing him at all. Videoing in the office is an ACTUAL hipaa violation. You’re an idiot

always interesting and jarring to see normal people’s idea of what a dumb question is. “why would the earth form into a sphere?” and “what prevents penguins from flying, and why would that be an evolutionary advantage?” are actually high level. can the average adult answer these?

What do you do in this scenario?

Nice try there, kiddo. Reinforcement learning stems from behaviourist paradigms demonstrating classical and operant conditioning in which reward is paired with certain stimuli to train behaviour (i.e., learned behaviour through reinforcement). This was a priori to machine learning and neural networks, which developed precisely because it is a fundamental fact of human neurobiology and behavioural psychology. Reinforcement learning is the key psychobiological substrate of both CBT and behavioural conditioning. CBT is not NLP. CBT maps psycho-emotional states to real-world situations that generate them, and admits reinforcement learning as a fundamental to change. This is also distinct from (though related to) neuroplasticity, which you clearly don't even understand based on your posts. I'm pretty sure over a lengthy career I've read more psychology and neuroscience than you could ever hope to muster. Thanks for playing, and congratulations on demonstrating the Dunning-Kruger effect in real time!

@IntelliApe @PsyklikFarms @politicalmath 2nd with having read so much literature can you not see the link between repeatedly venting anger at an interactive interface and how that can reinforce your own internal habits of handling frustration aggressively, lowering your threshold for patience and thus effecting others??

@IntelliApe @PsyklikFarms @politicalmath Oh thanks for clarifying the reinforcement learning, genuinely only heard in comp science and never in my 7 years of biomed. Secondly I didn't mention NLP and even in the first reply to you i said got no clue about NLP and i talked about CBT, ofc it's not NLP, never said it was..

@IntelliApe @PsyklikFarms @politicalmath Behaviour conditioning and neuroplasticity cover it, not to mention it's showing in CBT how your words/actions have more power than you realise. I didn't state reinforcement learning which is a computation thing and not a term used in biology. 🤷‍♂️ U evident haven't read shit ha

@Dark_Intercept @PsyklikFarms @politicalmath I think you are grossly misunderstanding the reinforcement learning and neuroplasticity literature to try and support a weak argument. Either that, or you haven't read it. Have you actually read the research? Or are you just repeating pop-psychology talking points?

@IntelliApe @PsyklikFarms @politicalmath Ain't got a clue about NLP but it's widely supported by psychological concepts tied to neuroplasticity and behavioral conditioning that The idea that repeated actions reinforce habits, if you yell at AI over small issues, then eventually you'll yell at humans for the same shit.

Have you actually reviewed the causal evidence for/against NLP? Causally informative mechanistic evidence overwhelmingly disconfirms the purported mechanisms. Clinical evidence also shows no effect. The only studies that purport small-to-moderate effects are observational studies with significant conflicts of interest from NLP pushers and high risk of bias. These don't survive properly-corrected analysis. Multiple large independent trials and reviews show no clinical effect, nor support for the supposed causal mechanisms. Would you like to try again?

Ubisoft not only censored Anne Bonny's cleavage in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced, but also took the time to censor female statues. That tells you exactly where their priorities are. The world is safer now. Fictional sexism has been defeated

@Shadow_ofaDoubt @ScorpioDragon84 My assumption was by blowing you are leaving condensation on the copper pins which oxidised them and over time ruined them. pulling it out and back in would scratch those pads and make them work again. Hence why ppl who did blow kept blowing more and ppl who didnt, didnt have to.

The interesting part is, the study was correct, but they reported on the entirely wrong results, this shows the disconnect between science and practical application. The act of blowing on the cartridge did essentially nothing unless it has been out collecting dust for some time, it was re-seating the cartridge that made the difference. And after it was studied and shown that the blowing was useless, they came out and said "Blowing does nothing!", which is technically true, but they did not emphasize the actual important thing which was "You should take it out and put it back in, skip the blowing". That wasn't reported anywhere, so people just thought whoever did the study was an idiot because the whole act of removing the cartridge and blowing clearly did something. The results should have been "You can skip the final step" but what was reported was "You shouldn't do it at all."

@Proud2beGeechie @ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 The cost was because Kinect was mandatory initially and the always online and the ability to not trade was retroactively cancelled due to the extreme backlash it caused. also in regards to games the PS4 had 1 title more than Xbox at launch and less sought after exclusives.

@Dark_Intercept @ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 What led to a lack of sales was being more expensive at $500 vs $400 while being less powerful, and not having any games that people really cared about en mass to be motivated enough to buy the console..Xbox Series is a similar boat with games

@Proud2beGeechie @ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 Oh mad, thought they did but guess only in America was it outsold by Xbox, my apologies mate, thanks for clarifying. Still think it's a valid thing to look at, as back then and now games were/still are either digital or physical. If U don't learn from the past U will repeat it 🫠

@Dark_Intercept @ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 Sony didn't lose the PS3 gen. Look it up. They still outsold the 360 despite being on the market a year less. Also, the majority of gamers weren't all digital then like they are now, so it isn't an apples to apples comparison.

@Proud2beGeechie @ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 Considering what Sony did to get to this point and having lost PS3 gen, they used physical game trading and lack of requiring always online connection to sell the PS4 which Xbox "required" led partly to lack of Xbox sales imo. It seems like history is just repeating, just swapped.

@ZoLRaKLeUGiM @Stallion83 Lmao. Yeah just like everything else MS has tried to do. 100 million users aren't gonna leave PS. Some may, but people have hundreds if not thousands of dollars tied into PS ecosystem and aren't likely to leave it all for Xbox. Physical won't save xbox

@ArasakaRD @rpcs3 PS4 has 2x the games compared to ps5 and we still in the ps5 lifetime. ppl were happy to emulate the PS4 with its limited games, there is no reason not to do the same to ps5 later tho when tech can handle it, As to emulate it ur PC needs to be more powerful to handle the overhead

@hallucix_ @rpcs3 Mate the PS4 has an emulator and has only twice the amount of games and it took ages for it to come out, it takes time for an emulator to come out. Also Digital key cards are Nintendos thing, PS is planning to not have anything. Also Sony turning games into sub model what 😅

Hey devs, what do you think about this? I can understand returning a game you don't like, but returning a game you like... I'm not sure... The game's price isn't even enough to buy a hamburger.

This should not be possible @Steam Would be cool if you could finally do something about your refund policy... Got dozens of reviews like that and 21% refund rate even though the Reviews are 90% very positive... Thats over 55,000 Refunds btw...

@arizoftgames @IndieCurator I don't believe the majority of people who refunded the game enjoyed it. The achievements don't match up, with a massive drop between completing the first Area and paddling. Rage slop game, positive review being ppl who enjoy the game and style, and refunds for ppl who didnt

The fact that 55000 gamers (if that's the number, and I see no reason to doubt it) both liked the game (Very Positive on 1400 reviews) and still actively made the decision to say "but fuck this dude for my three bucks" and take a positive, intentional step to take that three bucks back after getting what they paid for tells you everything you need to know about marketing on Steam.

@Marleybone007 @I_amZackk @hard8_times Yes Def's, indie devs can put in a lot of time and effort, but time=/= effort and the effort for a movie trumps the effort this person put into this game and is charging the same price. Their ain't, popularity is better in the industry, hence I say better I ain't bein subjective

be Mateo - 23 years old - solo game developer from Germany - goes on vacation, tries paddle boating with his brother - realizes how hard it actually is - gets home, builds a physics-based coop paddle game around the idea - ships the demo in 2 weeks - releases the full game as "Paddle Paddle Paddle" - game blows up - sells over 150,000 units - goes full-time as an indie dev - named Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2026 should be a total win - 90% positive reviews - game clearly works, clearly isn't broken but the game is short, tight, and easy to finish fast - 55,000 refunds - 21% refund rate - $164,000 clawed back at $2.99 a copy not because it's bad because Steam's refund window has a blind spot - less than 2 hours played, 14 days since purchase - instant refund, no questions asked - built to protect buyers from broken games - can't tell "this didn't work" from "I beat this and want my money back" this exact exploit already happened in 2021 - different indie dev, Emika Games, hit the same wall - nearly quit the industry over it Valve still hasn't fixed it - posts about it publicly, gets support from the community - keeps developing anyway - already teasing his next game, a coop voice-controlled chaos game called CAAAHR went from a shower thought on vacation to 150,000 units sold to a six-figure hole in his pocket, all from the same industry that put him on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list

@Marleybone007 @I_amZackk @hard8_times Think about hiring people based on hourly rate. They all work for an hour but their costs vary drastically. I don't value a paid artist that spent 3 years, I value a renowned artist spending 3 years. Both are the same time but vary in cost. Make time a constant.
