@KrisRoadruck Do you need the credit? I found once I had a solid emergency fund (6+ months of cash), credit didn’t really do anything for me when compared to the risk of letting something slip. I buy gently used cars with cash and got a mortgage with manual underwriting at market rates.

@compliantvc @hassankhan It’s the Netherlands so the chances are they are paying literally 49.5% on it. That’s the tax bracket once you make above €75k/yr here.

@DuaneStorey Was he being disruptive on the plane? Some part of me hopes that if he was able to responsibly handle it that it wouldn’t have caused legal issues upon landing 😂

The guy behind me on the plane to Krakow thought it would be funny to bring his own large bottle of jagermaester on the aircraft and drink all the way to Poland. He wasn’t laughing though when the team of Polish police wearing masks met us on arrival and dragged him off. Hope keeping the buzz going was worth it for that guy! Looking forward to my first pierogi shortly here.

@VotrubaT Can you give an example of one or two “vibe rules” that you’ve been most impressed with? We use a mixture of Pest architecture tests and ECS configs for quality control but I’m curious what sorts of project specific rules you have come across that fit nicely as “vibe” rules

I'm slowly noticing how GPT helps to increase quality of my upgrade service. Before, when client wanted to catch this detail or that detail, that is not part of typical ECS, Rector or PHPStan sets, I struggled with convincing myself to write a new rule to handle it. To be honest, 2 out 3 I skipped and explained why it "not a good idea at the moment" or "not according to the starndard out there". Basically turning laziness to arguments. What I do now? I let agent implement it, think of way to integrate it in open-source tool and just do it. The client is happy, code has much better code quality that fits particular project, and code-reviews are easier, because what was discussed in comments in days is now automated in CI in 5 mins. I'm happy as well, because the upgrade service is now 100 % tailored to the particular project and their devs 💙

@JiveDig @tanujDE3180 There is a slight SEO argument to be made around picking one and sticking to it. Otherwise you might have two urls pointed at the same content. I’m pretty sure google is smart enough to filter them out though. 🤷‍♂️

@tanujDE3180 I've been getting into Laravel/Statamic lately and wondered why they default to no-trailing slash. Now I'm wondering if I should be forcing them on new sites.

They were right. Get a mobile split unit if you can. Even with AirPods noise cancelling on, my old big AC was still loud enough to mess with my ears while working in the office. It cooled well, but not nearly as well as this mobile split unit, and this one makes way less noise. I legit couldn’t focus with the old one bc it was so loud 😅

@gaptheminder @Porkchop_EXP You don’t even need to store it if it’s residentially generated. Inverters can be dynamically-programmed to only output what is actually being used at any moment in time.

13 solar panels on the roof of an average sized Dutch family home provide so much energy throughout the entire year even in this dark and rainy climate that the family even gets paid by the energy company at the end of the year. Now imagine Germany that gets even more sunlight. How is energy scarcity and “AC bad for the climate” still a topic??

@GergelyOrosz Not to mention some countries have regulations that airco temperature cannot go below this in day time 🥵That said these regulations need an updates due to climate changes and unfortunately most energy coaches recommend by Gementee are also not useful here ,so yes swimming 🏊

It is extremely annoying how, in my apartment complex of ~40+ units, none of us are allowed to install AC units on our balconies... because of a mix of Amsterdam city regulations + HOA (VVe) code. This is all so backward. So most people literally boil, when there's a solution

@ImperiaIGames @linusgsebastian @Uber Front seat does nothing if your driver can’t hold a the accelerator pedal at a constant speed. I once had a 20 minute ride from the airport with the driver on/off/on/off/on/etc the entire time on the highway. It was hell.

Not too long ago I reached the point in my Dutch learning journey (23 months) where there were no more easy wins. The basics were solid. Grammar was understood enough to be confident in sentence structure without an advanced vocabulary. Yet somehow learning became harder.

@SeanChDavis Indeed. You can write all the documentation in the world, but unless the customer is using it regularly, the chances it remains relevant after a major update is slim… but then they probably are smart enough to adapt on the fly.
