मुंबईकरांनो, आता तरी डोळे उघडा! आज मिठी नदीत जगातला सर्वात मोठा नैसर्गिक वायूचा साठा सापडल्याच्या वावड्या उठत आहेत, पण वास्तव काय आहे? गेली २५ वर्षे मुंबई महापालिकेच्या सत्तेवर बसलेल्या 'पेंग्विन सेने'ने मुंबईच्या नद्यांना उघडी गटारं करून सोडलंय. ही कसली नैसर्गिक संपत्ती? हा तर यांच्या अकार्यक्षमतेचा आणि वसुलीचा विळखा आहे. मिठी नदीच्या स्वच्छतेच्या आणि रुंदीकरणाच्या नावाखाली 'ब्रिमस्टोवॅड' (Brimstowad) प्रकल्पापासून आजपर्यंत हजारो कोटी रुपये पावसाच्या पाण्यासारखे वाहून गेले. तरीही प्रत्येक पावसाळ्यात मुंबई का बुडते? कारण हा पैसा मुंबईकरांच्या सोयीसाठी नाही, तर मातोश्रीच्या लाडक्या कंत्राटदारांच्या तिजोरीत गेला. एकीकडे आमचे लाडके पंतप्रधान श्री. नरेंद्र मोदीजी भारताला ऊर्जेच्या क्षेत्रात स्वयंपूर्ण बनवण्यासाठी दिवसरात्र एक करत आहेत. उज्ज्वला योजनेतून घराघरात गॅस पोहोचवत आहेत. आणि दुसरीकडे, मुंबईत या सत्तांध नेत्यांनी नैसर्गिक जलस्त्रोतांना 'गॅस चेंबर' बनवून ठेवलंय. मिठी नदीतून आज जो गॅस निघतोय, तो यांच्या भ्रष्टाचाराचा साचलेला कचरा आहे. मिठी नदीच्या आजूबाजूला राहणाऱ्या लाखो मुंबईकरांना या दुर्गंधीमुळे श्वसनाचे आजार होत आहेत.
