@SenWarren We should offer free healthcare to all kids. Why is no one pushing that anymore?

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

For everyday married folks, IRS rules (Pub 503) bar the Child and Dependent Care Credit for payments to your spouse or yourself for caring for your own kids—it's not a qualified expense, as it's personal, not arm's-length. Self-employment deductions don't apply either unless it's a separate licensed daycare business serving non-family clients. Campaign funds are the outlier, but only for candidates: FEC allows it solely if childcare is a direct result of campaign activities (e.g., travel/events), not routine family needs. No other general "funds" loopholes exist.

I'm not a politician, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't using campaign funds to pay your wife a big no-no?

@ksorbs Since you asked, here is your answer. No, it’s not illegal. It only took me 45 seconds to Google it. If I’m guessing, you Googled it and found the answer, and decided to play ignorant instead. Ignorance seems to be your default.

@SSB_Rick I am I a similar spot. We were told to get divorced and go on Medicaid. I wish I did it, my son missed out on many treatments not covered by our private insurance that Medicaid would have fully covered. Also we would be in wayyyy less debt

People saying I need to work harder and grow up. I went from a $45 hour job to a $19 hour job with 50 hour weeks. I have 4 kids, one severely disabled, that’s why my wife can’t work. Yall need to grow up. I didn’t get fired, I got laid off a year ago and I’ve been trying everything. Maybe I’ll get called back, maybe I won’t. I lose my rights this August
CMAC@SSB_Rick

I might be sober. I might be a family man. But I’m a failure. I can hardly afford rent as it is. My wife stays home because our daughter is severely handicapped. I just lost my severance pay due to time. Life is so freaking brutal.

Something I don’t understand is how you can live in an apartment and complain about noise from your neighbors. We have two kids under 10 and they’re always making noise. Older neighbors sometimes complain or bang on the floor or ceiling. If you don’t like noise, then why are you living in a city or an apartment? Go live in the middle of nowhere. Go live in a farm town in a big field. You chose the convenience of urban life… you have to accept that you’re living around other humans. Get over it.

It's fascinating watching people who've had programming classes work with AI. They can intuitively break tasks into recipes for the AI to follow. At each step, understanding how the AI could misinterpret it. Normies struggle with this.

All I see is a cheerful and skilled woman who can build a house with her bare hands, and a bunch of pampered wusses who dunk on her because they are squeamish like little spoiled kids. Who of them do you think is still capable of reproducing above replacement? Exactly. Newsflash: Animal dung was extensively used in the West, including in America, as a building material until very recently. Look up "wattle and daub".

It is hard to imagine X without the brains, heart and soul @Rainmaker1973 brings. His life here, 14 hours a day was for you and me. Not sure what the algorithm thinks is “good” but it ain’t some image of some famous guy’s daughter. We need to be more careful with accounts that matter, his 4 million well earned follower here. The account IS THE SIGNAL.. I should not have to dig today to see his content only to see superb postings with 100 impressions. We all know this is wrong. I understand building a community here on X is hard but it is discouraging to see what has been done to his account. It is discouraging to know this situation has had such a material impact on him. I can’t talk about his private life, but you and I for a great many reasons is why he is with us. I pray for this man.

That the county. I joined a gang at 12.. in the county.. I just wanted to hang with my friends but they said I had to join the gang. Our OG would have us commit crimes and rob people. With a gun! As I avoided crimes with the excuse of "homework" I got out beat out quick. Sadly those kids except one all became hardened criminals. Back then they would have us commit crimes because any sentence we would receive was light.

An American buys a $138K home and sends $9,286 to the bank. Only $952 hits the principal. Over $8,300 goes to interest, taxes, and insurance. Feels less like ownership—and more like a system stacked against you.

Mohammed Ali has a pretty good shot at it I’d say. He’s fast and tough. My karate instructor back in the 70s told me that one of the toughest opponents for a martial artist was a skilled boxer, because they could really take a hit and keep on coming, plus a boxer’s own punches were devastating.

A 40-year-old working mom of two just said what a lot of women are quietly thinking after years in the corporate grind: “I fell for it. Go to college, get the degree, you can have it all — career, kids, the whole thing. I don’t want to do it all anymore. I want to take my kids to school, pick them up, be there when they get home, chaperone field trips, volunteer, go to the gym, clean the house, do laundry, cook dinner… just be home.” She’s blunt: “It’s not worth it. Don’t fall for that sh... Find a way to be with your family.” It’s raw, honest, and hits different when you hear it from someone who’s lived both sides. Moms (and dads) — have you ever reached that point where the “have it all” dream started feeling like a trap? What would your ideal balance actually look like if money or societal pressure wasn’t part of the equation? Your thoughts 👇

Drone swarms shut down one of the largest and most national security sensitive @usairforce bases in the United States during a major war. And we’re told the Air Force was powerless to stop it. These drones were “superior” to anything in Ukraine. Why is this not a major story?: “The electronic countermeasures failed to work.”
