You weren't looking after your own people by clogging up cities at rush hour. That will have cost the economy more than was given to Ukraine. Betcha think Trump is a grand fella altogether though, John...

"We've a Government here that's giving away millions and millions...we should look after our own people first - then help other countries," says John Dallon, a farmer and agriculture contractor. #VMNews

@EamonMelia @TonightVMTV His mornings on newstalk were something else altogether.
English

@dsmooney @Danny_Diskin @AontuIE @independent_ire @VirginMediaIE We pay tax from our salary, a further 60% fuel tax to go to work to pay those taxes again makes no sense whatsoever.
English

@TonightVMTV @Toibin1 People who “don’t care” or don’t follow the situation take note.
We work and pay taxes, then the fuel we need to go to work is 60% pure taxation on top.
The Iran war has simply highlighted the situation.
English

"This Government is taking more in every single litre of tax than the whole supply chain in terms of the delivery of oil," says @Toibin1
English

@JamesOConnorTD This news is fabricated all of a sudden, it’s no coincidence.
English

This is very positive and encouraging news. Nuclear was always the obvious answer to a decarbonised grid in Ireland. We need to get better at delivering large scale infrastructure in Ireland.
Business Post@businessposthq
Several senior members of government are now open to reviewing Ireland’s nuclear power ban, while the issue has been actively discussed at cabinet energy committees in recent weeks, the Business Post has established businesspost.ie/politics/cabin…
English

@EamonRyan It appears the more people conform and trust these amazing ideas the higher their energy bills rise! You should be ashamed of yourself asking for change with these results. It’s not a nice society, being poor and not being able to stay warm without worrying about the cost.
English

Even of the war in Iran ends tomorrow, it should see us changing our energy system for good. The Irish Government should use our EU Presidency to pass new legislation, promoting more renewables, grid flexibility & lower prices, so we electrify everything. irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

@FlanneryTony A small sacrifice for your fellow countrymen and women, well done 👍

There is simply no political party in #Ireland currently that reflects the views of the majority of population on spending, taxation, immigration and the NGO industrial complex.
It is no wonder people are so angry.
English

The strong economy resulted in a 3.4% increase in taxes collected in the first three months of this year compared to the same period in 2025 rte.ie/news/business/…
English

@carndoc @multiconco28270 @TheLiberal_ie @Ireland2020 The budget they come up with often serves NGO’s and foreign interests so I’m all for an Irish government that tells the EU to fuck off and rewards workers after the disabled. sick and elderly. A multi billion euro hospital, a bike shed, NGO’s, IPAS, they need to be defunded.
English

Ireland is doomed unless it gets a government that actually represents the interests of the people.
None of the current batch of lickspittle, EU puppets have the slightest interest in protecting the Irish people.
Ireland needs a Nationalist government that has policies that fully support the interests of the people.
This government needs to fall.
English

@techbuzzinfo I wouldn’t be at all surprised if some of the callers on newstalk that were anti protest were PLANTS, because who would not support people protesting against the government’s 65% fuel tax. Carbon tax, fuels tax, all this bullshit.

@businessposthq This government ends up reversing on its absolutely stupid ideas; the cost to the state in time and money coming up with harebrained ideas when, without fuel and heat, we have nothing, EXPENSIVE electric cars, EXPENSIVE 'retro-fitting,' and EXPENSIVE heat pumps won't save us.
English

Cabinet actively discussing Ireland’s nuclear power ban as opposition softens businesspost.ie/politics/cabin…
English

@RealIrishCONS There shouldn't be a large tax on fuel if you already contribute tax in your salary.
English

We'd all have a lot more money in our pockets if the government wasn't stealing so much of our incomes through taxation.
60-65% tax on fuel, paid for with money that was already heavily taxed.
Taxation is theft.

@420AuditsEire @MakingSenseInfo I will never deliver my empty bottles in those filthy, piss-ridden containers.
English

@Davanxx @MakingSenseInfo So you just bin all the drinks you buy ? Wow. Coca-Cola must love you bro. They are the main beneficiary each time you don't claim back that tax.

@EoinLenihan @GeorgeDillon It’s popular to call people racist, people believe it’s about that, it’s not. It’s about making sure the country and its people are maintained, like a garden. Young people thriving, not living in cars outside campus, not coming second to a bunch of foreigners needs.
English

@GeorgeDillon He’s an Irish musician. He’s in the papers today complaining about the cost of housing while not being able to link mass immigration and the housing crisis. He led a concert in Dublin in 2015 in support of illegals and called Irish people who complained about the wave ”racist”.
