I have been sickened all day by the news of three boys who lured two schoolgirls, raped them, and filmed it on their phones while they laughed and egged each other on. When they finally stood before a judge this week, they were handed “rehabilitation orders” and walked out without serving a single day behind bars. Not in prison, not in custody or a young offender institution. The judge said, “None of you need to go to prison”. What message does that send to rapists? The crime could hardly be graver, yet the punishment was no punishment at all. It’s the collapse of consequences and the rot runs right through the justice system. And this is only going to get worse because Labour are choosing to go soft on criminals: ❌ They have abolished short prison sentences. ❌ They have let tens of thousands of criminals out early. ❌ And now they want to raise the age of criminal responsibility, so that even MORE young offenders escape any consequence at all. My position is common sense👇 PRISON WORKS. ✅It punishes those who do wrong, it keeps dangerous people off our streets and away from our children. ✅It tells every victim that the law is on their side. A country that forgets this is a country where schoolgirls are raped and filmed for sport, and the boys who did it get to go home. Conservatives stand against it and our policies on sentencing and prison are the ones that will deliver a stronger country.

Collapsing immigration has seen a narrative switch - to 'alarming exodus of Brits'. In fact, the outflow - in both total and age composition - has been remarkably steady. Brits and Kiwis have long been massive wanderers. From Table 7a.

The entire continent of Europe is one massive dictatorship right now and liberals actually have the nerve to call Trump, the one person fighting to preserve freedom, a dictator 😂 Sorry but kicking illegals out of our country is simple law and order, not dictatorship. Cry more liberals

FIFA is panicking: World Cup hotel cancellations are surging as global fans ditch the U.S., citing soaring costs, visa bonds, and Trump’s dictatorial behavior. Turns out nobody wants to pay $1,000 a night just to experience an authoritarian simulation.

@MatthewStadlen The right wing media are using him to undermine Starmer and the government as a whole. It's as simple as that. He's too stupid to realise their trap.

It’s also a bit weird for a bloke who wasn’t even an MP when Labour won their landslide less than two years ago to swan in and become Prime Minister. All feels a bit amateur.

Don’t get the Andy Burnham thing. If he becomes PM I hope he succeeds. But why is he even being talked of as a Prime Minister? Just because he’s capped bus fares in Manchester and has a net approval rating of 4? It’s verging on fantasy politics without much foundation in reality.

Let me put the record straight in plain English. We had no plans at all to visit this venue. Rob was taking us on a tour of the constituency to places which meant something to him. He took us to an old factory site next to the canal to start the tour. This was a factory where Rob used to work ( if you're not familiar with the term 'work' it's something working class people do day in day out and it involves getting your hands dirty). As we drove around he decided to take us to a fishing lake where he has fished. Once there we saw a cafe and decided to have a cuppa and use the toilet. I am confused as to why the lady sent the letter as she sat with us talking to us all about the cafe and the challenges it faces. She then asked for a selfie with Rob and Nigel and thanked us for the visit. We then left. On entering the car park I came across a very shaken looking @christiancalgie who I believe had been subject to a torrent of verbal abuse, some of it by yourself. We know there is a lot of pressure on yourself to become Labour leader but this type of gutter politics has no place in the UK. The cafe is a great place doing great work and as a supporter of these types of establishments I know full well about the financial challenges they face and the conversations these establishments have with politicians to secure funding. It now makes me wonder why this letter has been sent and I just hope this cafe is not being taken advantage for political gain.
Andy Burnham@AndyBurnhamGM

Mr @christiancalgie has been busy putting out a partial version of events these last few days, amplified by yourselves. I think it’s time all your readers had the whole story. They were all out of order and, if they had any decency, would now hold their hands up and apologise.

Ignore bent polling from an establishment that is desperate for Restore Britain to fail. Our data, from far more voters, evidences the fact that we are in the race. Every day I see more evidence of the establishment closing ranks to shut Restore Britain out. They hate us.

🚨Important policy announcement: Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile. A Reform government will ABOLISH income tax on hours worked beyond 40 hours a week, for incomes below £75,000 a year. It’s time to REWARD hard work, not punish it! 🇬🇧

EXCL: Wes Streeting insists he can win over Labour left, as he launches shadow campaign for party leadership, saying he has “beaten the odds” throughout life and can do so again. Former health secretary warns Labour MPs that drifting on with Keir Starmer in charge risks a Joe Biden moment that would usher in a Reform government. Although there is no official leadership contest – Starmer is still in Downing Street and the favourite, Andy Burnham, is campaigning to win a byelection – Streeting says it’s “inevitable” the PM would stand down. For his policy plans and more, read on 👇 theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@RobertJenrick @reformparty_uk Why give it to someone that has been trained to murder and probably has mental health issues - a very bad combination to have as a next door neighbour! You should treat the homeless all equally?

Three teenagers escaped prison after gang-raping two schoolgirls. The country is shocked and disgusted. But it is explicit government policy to send fewer criminals under eighteen to prison. I’ve written to David Lammy demanding he changes course.
