Quick PSA from this morning at LGA Terminal B in case anyone’s curious how the lines are: We arrived at 4:50am for an 8am flight and there were already probably ~1,000 people already lined up in front of us in non-precheck. There were just 4 agents working the TSA line and it took 2 hours & 10 minutes to get through.

Controlling traffic on the airstrip is literally his job, he is paid for do that, and couldn’t do it well. We know he is tired, he is human and human can make mistakes, but his mistakes took the lives of two pilots who trusted him and the health of the firefighters who trusted him, too.

The more we learn the more it is clear that the Air Traffic Controller was doing his best. His compulsion to take all the blame and responsibility is deeply honourable. He did so acutely aware the world would hear his words. As such he deserves the forgiveness, respect and compassion of all Canadians. His life will be very difficult going forward. I hope he gets all the support he needs. #AirCanada

❄️ By definition this will be a Bomb cyclone, and it now looks to become a paralyzing coastal #blizzard for New England, Long Island, and perhaps coastal New Jersey and New York City. Many will receive over a foot of snow Sunday into Monday. Coastal gusts in SE New England may reach #hurricane force 75mph+. This is the latest Hi-Res GRAF (IBM) available as of 4pm Friday. In my opinion it’s likely too far north and west with the heaviest snow, so take snow totals N/W of NYC with a grain of salt, for now, until we get closer to the storm. Still coastal locations in Long Island and SE New England will likely see 1-2 feet!
