@Strittposter You’ve told on yourself by claiming Alex was “actually funny”, and “self aware”. Nobody that believes either of those things is the intended audience for this ‘bit’.

The voice impression is pretty good, I’ll give him that much. Unfortunately for him, good voice impression =/= funny. Mean spirited isn’t a word I would use, it’s much too bland for a description like that. The bit is utterly soulless. It feels derivative and redundant. The fact this just started and is already stale speaks volumes. I’ve been sent coworker gifs over Teams that were funnier than this. The reason Alex Jones himself was actually funny was because he was self aware. He knew he acted unhinged, but he embraced that side of himself and doubled down. That’s what made him so charismatic. Even if you didn’t agree with him or didn’t believe the stuff he said, he was still likable in his own way. I’m convinced the left doesn’t understand what comedy is or how it works

@MeinGottNiles You think this is meant to “portray” Alex Jones? It’s pretty clearly just a ‘fuck you’ mockery of his idiocy, and a hastily arranged poke in the eye as they use the court of public opinion and media to erode his beloved brand.

This falls flat. Effective satire magnifies reality. Alex Jones gave them plenty to work with but they’ve chosen instead to portray him as worshiping Satan and trans rights or whatever because they’re too spiteful to be funny.

Something that breaks my heart as a Millennial is how fucking optimistic and fun our teenage years and 20s were. Like we envisioned a TOTALLY different world from the one that we've got and insanely divorced from what Gen-Z are experiencing. Its hard to put in words how fantastic we thought life was gonna be and how it seemed like we were making tangible social progress. We've had all of that ripped away from us.
