@RepFine No. If a student can borrow more, the schools will charge more! The only way to keep education affordable is to limit borrowing.

Law students can borrow up to $200,000, but Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists — the critical professionals who put patients under anesthesia — are capped at just $100,000 for their graduate degrees. These nurses earn more on average than most attorneys, yet the rules treat them worse. This doesn’t make sense. We’re going to work on fixing this and getting the rules right for the professionals America actually needs.

@Ana__Muhammad @luxemiaa Imagine being part of a religion that’s so feeble and weak that you can’t sit next to the opposite sex! How pathetic!

I was settled into my window seat on a flight when a flight attendant came over and asked if I would switch to a middle seat. Apparently the man sitting next to me said his religion did not allow him to sit beside a woman he wasn’t married to. I listened politely. Then I looked at the middle seat they were offering me. Absolutely not. I had specifically chosen and paid for my window seat. I was not giving it up so a stranger could avoid sitting next to half the population. I told the flight attendant, “Then he should consider traveling with his wife.” That was my full response. I wasn’t rude. I wasn’t loud. I simply declined to inconvenience myself to solve a problem that was not mine. The flight attendant nodded and moved on. The man........

@Keir_Starmer you just reached a level of gaslighting greater than when London had actual gas lamps.

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

I can’t get over the NDP’s embrace of a murderous patriarchal theocracy built on blatant misogyny and rampant homophobia.

Pro Palesitinian Brownshirts claimed they cancelled their protest outside a Manhattan synagogue because they didn't know where the address is, they clearly knew where it was. They knew our community is prepared and with the exception of a few, they stood down. Let's hope they stand down tomorrow in Queens as well. Credit: urban Jewish warrior

@CoreyWriting I agree with you on one point: you're no lawyer. It's perfectly legal to try to unionize. I see no indication that the employees are targeting their owners *because of* their ethnicity and anyway you're allowed to accuse people of supporting genocide even if you're wrong.

The staff of Breads Bakery in NYC are unionizing and accusing Israeli owners of supporting "genocide" because of their nationality. I'm no lawyer, but this seems to be a civil rights violation.

Two unpopular opinions on the Minneapolis shooting: 1. The woman who died was at fault. She was acting erratically, inserted herself into a dangerous situation, and behaved in a way that put both herself and others at serious risk. 2. The ICE agent acted on instinct and fired too quickly. He should not have escalated to lethal force in that moment. We need full body cam footage to understand exactly what he perceived, but based on the video available, it does not appear his life was in immediate danger as the vehicle was moving away. The left is already calling this blatant murder. The right is already claiming the woman was trying to kill the agent. Neither narrative is accurate. The woman who died acted dangerously and recklessly, and the ICE agent drew and fired his weapon too fast. If both sides don’t pause the political posturing and focus on de-escalation, Minneapolis is headed toward another night of chaos just like George Floyd. ICE should temporarily pull back from the community, and leaders on the left need to clearly and forcefully call for calm and nonviolence. There’s almost no chance both of those things happen, which means this situation will likely get ugly and Minneapolis could burn again. I know this take won’t make me popular with either side but it’s just my initial thoughts on situation.

Received reports of a shooting by an ICE agent in my district. I’m on-site gathering verified information. I’m deeply concerned by reports that a doctor was denied the ability to provide lifesaving CPR by federal law enforcement. Please stay safe & take care of one another.

I am on the ground with other council members near Portland and 33rd St E in the Central neighborhood where residents saw federal agents shoot a legal observer. This is a terrifying escalation of Trump’s attacks on our communities. ICE out of Minneapolis NOW.

You misunderstand the power dynamics here @nypost She, Cea weaver (as a jew) is simply telling brown people in NY to take White people’s property because that’s how they fight ”White supremacy” and ”racism.” She is not ever going to give up what she owns or her own property. These rules are not for her and her ilk. Never was. She is also not White, bot does she she herself as such. She is not going to stop and think twice because you point out a fallacy or a contradict in her position. She should simply be put in prison for advocating for property acquisition of a specific racial group, targeting only people of White European stock.
