Does Vitamin D protect against kidney injury? Here, @waikarss @DavidLeaf9 & team @BrighamWomens conduct a phase 2, randomized, double-blind, multi-dose, 3-arm clinical trial in critically ill adults. While treatment with calcifediol or calcitriol upregulated genes in several pathways and had anti-inflammatory effects, it did not prevent acute kidney injury: insight.jci.org/articles/view/…
