@Jordan_Schiefer I would like it on my vehicle only so I dont have to worry about idle or congestion fees. I dont want others to have it and start clogging up Superchargers. 😜
English

@OliveBr42748782 @Losha157 @SpaceX Thanks for replying to that. All I saw was someone who wants to be upset and make everything look negative so I didnt have anything to contribute to that.
English

@SawyerMerritt I wonder if there would be any improvement to latency. 4 seconds maybe?
English

SpaceX: "The Starlink team is exploring using Starlink to enable high bankdwith connectivity around the Moon; Traditionally, deep space comms have relied on radio frequency transmission. This new design would use lasers to relay data back to Earth. Deploying that technology around the Moon could connect it with hundreds of terabits of capacity. This could enable Gigabit connectivity anywhere on the lunar surface."

@SpaceX I don’t get why land the booster in the water instead of catching it with chopsticks in the tower.
What a waste of money….
English

@JeffBezos I havnt formed a final opinion on this. Its just a thought.*
English

@JeffBezos This is kind of a scary proposition for us in the middle/ lower class if you think about it. Lower taxes sound great but taxes from us are the incentive structure for the government to care for these classes. Especially with AI replacing these jobs.
English

Yes, the United States has the most progressive tax system in the world. The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom 50% pay 3% of taxes. We can make it even more progressive by zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. It’s a small amount of the total tax revenue but very meaningful to people in this group.
Shay Boloor@StockSavvyShay
Jeff Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay zero federal income tax. He cited a nurse in Queens making ~$75K and paying ~$12K in taxes saying “we shouldn’t be asking this nurse in Queens to send money to Washington.”
English

@LimitingThe Wouldn't this reduce the efficiency by heat/ "cold" loss through the window to the external environment before it even gets into the cabin?
The trade off might be worth it.
English

This is the 'coolest' Tesla patent application I've seen in a couple years.
The outer layer of the glass roof is solid, the inner layer is perforated, and there's an air gap between the two layers.
That means you can pump the HVAC system through the ceiling of the vehicle for even cooling.
It also means the ability to dampen sounds and alter resonance by changing the perforation matrix on the inner layer.

@actuallyajoke @SawyerMerritt Jaguar Type 00 was way worse.
Although, I think Mercedes did alright with the look on this one. Probably better in person than in photos
English

@SawyerMerritt I think this might be among the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen, inside and out. Very few redeeming aspects.
English

Mercedes has just officially unveiled the production version of its all-electric AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.
• Range: ~315 miles (EPA)
• 1,153 hp
• 0-60 mph: 2.0s
• Peak charging speed: 600kW
• 106 kWh battery
• 10-80% state of charge as low as 11 mins. Can add 244 miles of range in 10 mins.
• Formula 1-based 800-volt battery
• Fake V8 engine noises & gear shift sounds (shown below)
• Mercedes said it’s using 1,600 audio files to “sonically interpret” different driving situations. The car makes “exhaust burbles and pops" like as gas car.
• Axial-flux motors (a first). Runs parallel to the motor’s axis of rotation. In a conventional electric motor, it runs perpendicular to the axis. The front axial flux motor reaches more than 15,000 rpm at top speed.
• 2660 cylindrical cells stacked vertically, arrayed in 18 modules, nine to a side. Nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum chemistry. Energy density of 298 Wh/kg.
• Active aerodynamics
• Top speed: 186-mph
• Double sunroof with illuminated AMG logos over both driver and passenger seats
• Triple-screen layout. 10.2" digital instrument cluster alongside a pair of 14" screens. Infotainment display is slightly tilted toward the driver.
• Optional 5 seat layout
U.S. deliveries start in late 2026. Pricing will be announced later, but it's expected to be well over $100,000. More photos in the thread below:

@dinoeggoatmea1 @brandenflasch The idea is appealing and I want it to work but if yoh think through the implementation of it, it doesn't really work.
English

@dinoeggoatmea1 @brandenflasch Tire manufacturers dont have the highest margins to begin with and if you look at how much "road tax" is collected each year and factor in how many years you can get out of a set of tires, it doesnt make sense anymore. You'd be doubling the cost of tires. If not more.
English

@FreddySeg188641 @IchibanDeath @SDembraski I thought it was the other way around for Model 3's made since the 2024 Model year. Would be good to know which is true
English

@IchibanDeath @SDembraski AAA agent told me that new Tesla 3s & Ys are some of the most expensive cars to insure (at least in SoCal) because they are not easily repairable...
I really want FSD but the numbers just aren't penciling out
English

@SDembraski @M46726805 If there had been a screen protector on the camera's around his cell then you'd know he is still alive. 😆
English

@briandstone Context: Americans are the only dicks crossing the border. An increased number if dicks/ Americans are expected to cross into Canada this summer to enjoy or beautiful/ sovereign country.
😆 Jkjk Just a fun prod at our friends down south.
English

@JoshWest247 @brandenflasch That was my first thought...and what I still think. But it does have me wondering what vehicle this was fore because GM has some heavy products. They seem to make things as heavy as possible.
English

@brandenflasch Because it’s dishonest gouging bordering on fraud.
English

@dinoeggoatmea1 @brandenflasch I hooe there is a way to make that work but it may encourage people to use their tires longer than they should. People can also buy out of state so I think it should be a federal thing.
English

@brandenflasch The real way to fix this is to get rid of Gas Taxes across the board and instead move to a Flat Tax on Tires. It would have to be high, likely around 7-10% with Federal and State Combined. But for most that’s a tax once every 3 years.
But Semi’s and Commerical help fund it.
English

@sneezy_joe @tylershez @CSI_Starbase @bikepedx I feel confident they will recycle a certain percentage of what they use but it will need to be re- cleaned and mych will be lost to evaporation and the surrounding area.
English

@tylershez @CSI_Starbase @bikepedx When you say fresh you mean not salt water?
If they are going to launch hundreds of rockets per year from each pad it’ll be worth capturing and reusing the water.
English

@brandenflasch @OverlyTrev Exactly.
"Who needs BYD Flash Charging. I just charged in 3 minutes."
Congrats on your 10%- 20% charge bud. 😆
English

OMG Guys BYD Flash charging is SO FAST!
Ohhh wait this is a Tesla V4 supercharger ripping at 258kW making it only a 9 MINUTE stop.
It’s almost like you don’t worry about charging speed when traveling, we barely had enough time to go into use the bathroom and get a snack! Ohh and it was only $15.46

English

@brandenflasch @AaronJRolen Ah, I didnt take into account the high speed limits there. That's definitely a struggle once you're in a truck.
English

@DawdyTim @AaronJRolen ~320 miles at 80mph would be a struggle even in a 3 LR
English

I test drove a cybertruck for the first time last week. Amazing machine. Was really tempted. Still am. The range is basically a deal breaker.
I live 2-2.5 hrs from Dallas. I want to drive there and back comfortably. My Silverado EV is inferior in every way—but gets 450 miles.
Greggertruck@greggertruck
We need a 400 mile range Cybertruck still please
English

@brandenflasch @AaronJRolen Model 3 LR RWD would have no problems doing this but thats not really a Cybertruck competitor.
English

So many people justifying stops... this is like my fairly frequent Charlotte > Raleigh > Charlotte day trip that almost no EV on the market can do without stopping to charge. If you're driving somewhere straight through, doing whatever it is you need to do, you don't want to have to stop on the way back.
