Go to play Liphook GC today. Another brilliant heathland golf course just to the south west of London. £180 green fee was super value. Heathland golf courses are the best kept secret in golf.

@DeTop100Courses Played the red …. Brilliant course

Played The Berkshire Blue on Wednesday. It’s a super layout with 5 excellent par 4’s to finish off the round. Played the Red course previously. 2 great courses. Highly recommended. Hard to beat heathland golf.

@DonWindlesham @kmbaert It’s a great question as the Red course has 6 par 3’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 5’s which is extremely rare while the Blue has a much more conventional layout. Very different but 2 super courses.

@DeTop100Courses @kmbaert The Red is generally regarded as the better of the two, but personally I believe that the Blue is the better layout.

@radarparker For sure. It was 210 yards into a strong breeze on Wednesday. Ideal after coming from Heathrow 🤨

@DeTop100Courses £180 is not “super value” it’s extortionate for what should be considered shoulder season. Blackmoor or Purbeck would be two to praise for being good value.

@DaveHall118 Hi Dave, No doubt golf has become expensive. I flew from Ireland to play Liphook and The Berkshire Blue during the week so between everything it’s not cheap but I think heathland golf is incredible and is worth the effort and cost.

@djtwoscoops It’s a lot of money but it’s a brilliant golf course Dan. For some reason it seem that heathland courses don’t get a lot of overseas visitors. If they did, I think the green fee could be much higher.

Very sad to see the beautiful Ric’s Restaurant at Te Arai GC in New Zealand has been destroyed by a fire. We had a wonderful time there at Te Arai and at the nearby Tara Iti. It was such a lovely building right beside the huge putting green. Thankfully nobody was injured.
