@yiningkarlli Intel OTOH is using SYCL specialization constants and JIT compilation from SPIR-V for select kernels Last time I checked, the CUDA backend could only compile from source when the CUDA toolkit is on the users machine. Hence no source modification, just cubin and PTX.

The M5 Max MacBook Pro is faster at GPU Blender renders than a Nvidia 5090 laptop that costs 3x as much as the MacBook Pro. So that's interesting.

@hownotai @ForestKatsch @lafaiel Given that the RTX5090 is twice as fast in Blender than both the mobile RTX5090 and M5 Max, the M5 Ultra may still be slower. The Ultra never scaled twice as good despite having twice the amount of cores. But we'll see.
