When real metrics are used and adjusted for things like race, income and ESL, etc., Florida is near the top.

How does this not bankrupt Florida?
I know they have a sales tax and some property taxes would still apply (e.g., investment properties), but my intuition tells me the math won't work here.

Florida is becoming the most compelling state in the USA. 0% income tax rate; soon to be 0% property taxes, runs a budget surplus; has $15B in reserves. It will become the fastest growing state in the next year. States should take note of what is working there and try to emulate.

First there was the CBC broadcaster scream, then concern and horror for Lindsey Vonn. We saw Breezy Johnson having to sit forever after a historic run, knowing her US teammate had just been airlifted away. There were those close to Vonn sitting in the crowd in shock. Others in the crowd waving to the camera as if were just another sunny day in the mountains. Then there were the skiers yet to come trying to focus on their race and dreams. A surreal morning in Cortina. But also an honest one. The cruelty and joys of sport at the highest level. And then people move on to the next event, to the next show.
