$LYC According to the rare earth producer, the long-term supply agreement with JARE has been extended until 2038, thus securing the long-term supply of rare earths to Japanese industry. Key points include a fixed purchase of 5,000 tons of NdPr per year at a minimum price of US$110 per kg, as well as a commitment to purchase 50% of JARE's total HRE oxide production. In total, up to 7,200 tons of NdPr are to be delivered to Japan annually, without any loss of opportunity for LYNAS. In addition, a profit-sharing agreement was reached: If Lynas achieves prices for NdPr exceeding US$150/kg, 30% of the additional revenue will go to JARE. The agreement underscores the strategic importance of Lynas for Japan's supply chains for light and heavy rare earth elements. Conclusion: This is very exciting news, especially because LYNAS has managed to establish a minimum price for rare earth elements without any state or government taking a stake in LYNAS. I consider this a crucial distinction, as it allows them to remain independent! The Japanese have always stood by LYNAS through thick and thin, and this close relationship has now been further strengthened. I believe this news will be well received.
