In America, you pay a few hundred dollars a month to a private insurer for healthcare you probably won't end up needing but will be glad to have when you do need it.
In Canada, you pay an extra few thousand dollars a year in taxes for everyone's healthcare, wait 30 weeks to get it when you need it, and then they tell you to kill yourself.
Neither system is ideal, but one is substantially worse than the other.
