@shamteppo @NEJM I don’t believe this.
A patient with a torn displaced meniscal flap tear causing mechanical symptoms doesn’t benefit from resection (or repair if applicable) of said torn displaced flap? Even an excruciatingly painful disabling displaced flap in the medial gutter?
English

A widely used knee surgery may not just be ineffective — it may cause harm.
10-year results from the FIDELITY trial, now in @NEJM.

@Thebestfigen Subluxated , not dislocated. It matters.

@AmitMomayaMD @JoePompliano Only one knee is stabilized!
English

@JoePompliano Actually both legs usually go into the scanner so the athlete would never know the wrong knee was scanned. However, based on the coronal cut usually the doctor and radiologist would catch it unless the tech flipped the knee accidentally
English

This story makes no sense and, if true, actually makes Mbappe look just as bad. Doctors usually confirm the injury site multiple times before placing a large knee coil over the injured knee during an MRI. If the wrong knee was scanned, that means the doctor messed up *and* Mbappe was so checked out that he didn't realize they put the device on his uninjured knee.

Kylian Mbappe’s knee injury was misdiagnosed after Real Madrid medical staff performed an MRI scan on the wrong leg back in December. When no problem was found after a scan of his uninjured right knee, the 27-year-old featured in three games for Madrid before the mistake was realised and rectified. @mamboitaliano__ Those colours always work in European settings due to its architecture, imo.

@Rainmaker1973 Have you not created a gap on the other end of the Plank?

@Nadav_Eyal Fantastic info at a time of partisan reporting.

1/ Eighteen hourse since the start of the U.S.–Israel operation against Iran - several insights and new pieces of information.
***The Middle East is still in shock over the assassination of Ali Khamenei, the world’s longest-serving dictator and the architect of the “Axis of Resistance.” Together with other eliminations, this is a strategic blow of historic magnitude - and the first time Israel has killed the head of a sovereign state.
In many ways, Israel has sought to restore its deterrence after October 7, once it became clear it had none- not vis-à-vis Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, or the Houthis. The killings of Sinwar, Nasrallah, Khamenei, and Assad’s flight to Moscow are an attempt to rebuild regional deterrence.

@MikePMoffatt @acoyne Gold has finally delivered after a long period of underperforming.
US market, particularly tech performance has been lights out. A generational wealth producing performance was missed by anyone not in this market.
Hopefully there is more to come!

Arguably the best rock’n roll band during this stretch.

@PSchrags Depressing to read many of the ignorant replies on this thread.

@TerryDiMonte @VIA_Rail Very frustrating experiences are common. I can’t accept the fact that last month I boarded a train via Paris-London in 2.5 hrs. They can build a track under the English Channel, but we can’t build a track along the 401. More feasibility studies they tell us 😔
English

We were so excited by our trip with @VIA_Rail on the way to Toronto and so disappointed with the return home. Outstanding on the ride to Toronto. Complete shit on the way home. Too bad. We thought it was going to be our new way to travel

@GadSaad Because AI requires lots of energy, and AI will make a lot of money.

@marwilliamson DOGE should be bipartisan.
Both parties are responsible for out of control spending.
Taking a victory lap is shameful.
English

DOGE saved no money, cost tens of thousands of people their jobs, decreased government efficiency, and actually led to death for people whose lives depended on certain medicines as well as food.
I heard from someone close to him that Musk is actually regretful (he was high most of the time that was going on, after all). It was suggested to him that he should apologize to the nation.
