Good afternoon, I’m following up on my inquiry from a few days ago. Has airport management concluded its investigation into what appeared to be a near-miss incident in Brooklyn, NY over a residential area nearby the Verrazano bridge and a U.S. Army base? If so, could you please publicly disclose those findings to me, or direct me to the person or dept that I may contact to obtain that information? Specifically, were they able to identify and confirm what type of drone or UAS the 2 aerial craft seen in my recording were and who they were registered to? Reminder, neither appeared on a flight radar tracking app at that time and location. And were they able to confirm if the other craft involved was indeed a commercial flight with passengers from Denver to LGA, which did appear on the tracker at time of recording? In light of recent events and reports, I think getting a definitive answer on this would be very important and members of congress may want to know the results of that investigation. Thank you again for your assistance in this matter and I look forward to your response.

Some can opt out of having their info public, but they would still likely show up on the radar tracker, with identifying info kept anonymous. And authorities like the FAA would easily be able to confirm such a situation. As for drones, that’s even more reason to ask questions of officials as to what is or isn’t being permitted to fly in crowded air spaces.

Drones are officially in Brooklyn! In Bay Ridge approx 11pm-11:15pm, 10+ DRONES? Some had a little blinking white dot and as 1 or 2 flew away with green/yellow/red lights, the white dot ones turned on green/yellow/red lights then flew away. One drone actually shut all of its lights OFF, so seemed to disappear in the night sky! All hovered near Verrazano Bridge that connects Bklyn to Staten Island. Can the FAA please confirm if the drones/UAS’s visible in the below videos that I recorded on Sun, Dec 8th and Wed, Dec 11th in Brooklyn, NY were registered to fly in that area at the times specified in the posts below? In each instance, it was after 11pm EST. Several planes showed up on a flight tracking app, while simultaneously numerous visible drones/UAS’s did NOT. One video even includes a near head-on collision btwn a drone/UAS & a commercial flight. This info has been forwarded to my congresswoman. Please reply with any information you may have available to help clarify the situation. Thanks in advance.

@getcaughtup @reporterrina That sounds like a great idea, but not sure if they would. I believe law enforcement would be better suited to do that, as it could be dangerous and they could handle the situation.
