They cared so little about this that no one obsessed over the depth of how he became a 'major' player in the universe. He was (quite possibly) the most shallow and ham-fisted figure of hackery ever put to film. He had no purpose, no direction, no backstory, and was just a mass-produced clone from nothing much like the abysmal Alien Resurrection subplot about Ripley coming back as a hybrid clone. Snoke was even a dumb name. These people behind his creation should be removed from their roles and never allowed to touch a creative property again for the rest of their lives.
