Trying not to destroy the English language or individual liberties. I'll tweet mostly about Politics. Probably. Not affiliated w/ Disney in any way.

I wish the educational system would just admit that E.D. Hirsch was right and then structure the curriculum accordingly.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

Sit and read for 3-5 uninterrupted (phone down!!) hours and watch you finish that damn (300-400 page) book!! She’s right!!

We are an early bedtime for the children household. They need a full nights sleep. I need silence, time to take care of myself and rest. My husband needs time to decompress. My marriage needs the chance for us to be together without being interrupted or pulled away from one another constantly. It’s win win win win all around.

Many women do not want to ‘stay home’. It’s boring, repetitive and you are an unpaid servant. It also predisposes you to poverty if your husband gets bored & dumps you. Also, women have outperformed men in education for a century. Maybe you guys should stay home.

Anyone been following the various threads on people who can't handle first person POV in books because it's not them? (In other words, they don't get that they're hearing someone telling them their story, or they understand in theory but can't separate themselves from "I" in practice.) Most folks are saying it's a literacy issue, i.e. lack of exposure to narrative fiction, but I wonder if it might be a more fundamental issue in early childhood. I haven't found any specific research on it yet but if you're aware of anything, let me know.
