Womp womp womp... fell from the top of the bouldering wall and snapped my fibula won't be able to put weight on it for a month or two much less climb. At least I have the satisfaction that I completed a route that was really hard for me to even start a few weeks ago!

@TroublesomeF So, it is one horrible felonious admin that argued that ppl should be handed over to a foreign government without due process. Bordet checkpoints with limited authority are the normal course of things, even in other countries. It’s dumb to let Trump’s abuses kill normal things!

Allowing the same people to set arbitrary internal checkpoints on most citizens for "national security" seems unwise.

Border patrol checkpoints, near international borders and staffed by uniformed, identifiable and trained officers are miles apart from the ICE shenanigans that people have been legitimately outraged about

@TroublesomeF El Paso is on the border, you get checkpoints at specific areas on the actual border and I’m a rural area outside of El Paso. You absolutely can (or could) go about your business between those two places without interacting with CBP. I’d reckon CA works (or did) similarly

@TroublesomeF Strongly disagree! Sarita checkpoint is only like 80 or 90 miles from the official border and very much part of the border region. There has traditionally been much more casual treatment of the border itself vs the surrounding region (on both sides).

The thing is, jurors are incredibly hostile to cops who turn off their body cams. They know that's not a good sign.
But ICE doesn't have to worry about juries, so any oversight is going to have to come from Congress or the President.
