The same dog you can see in the quoted tweet. I hate to think what he'd done to the poor abductees at Sde Teiman. This deranged sadistic psychopath comes from an infamous family of Kahanist terrorists. He was the head of security at the Nova Festival on October 7, and has already been featured on Channel 14 in the past.

@UnderhillJonas Accidental injury in a sport is considerably further from slavery than what I am talking about when I reference unethically produced or pirated/stolen porn!
Incidentally I do think UFC is generally Bad but that’s neither here nor there

@DistractedAnna UFC fighters, for example, also experience a lot of mental and physical pain, also sometimes due an illegal move or perhaps a trick done to them that they didn't sign up for. This misses the key bad aspect of slavery imo, which is the removal of fundamental freedoms.

Arguably a better one is whether you deliberately avoid consuming media* that was unethically produced/causes harm and/or that the creators or performers weren’t paid for and didnt agree to be unpaid for

@UnderhillJonas Likewise I’ve squiggled into vegetarianism over the last few years because I have slowly come to find animal suffering to be real and meaningfully avoidable but, like, I don’t think it’s anything close to the same level as the human suffering of slavery

@UnderhillJonas I would not say that an individual victimized by revenge porn or by having their boundaries in a performance disregarded or pushed is experiencing the same thing as a person in slavery; it’s not a perfect comparison

@DistractedAnna Something all these analogies lack - slavery was the foundation of a lot of southern economic enterprise. So this isn’t about choosing to consume something evil, it’s about “would you shut down a lucrative (relative to alternatives) family business”

@DistractedAnna I like the idea that being raised by a slave owning family might change your opinion about owning slaves but the vegetarian would definitely still be vegetarian. That's certainly not a product of upbringing at all

Something I've noticed is the extent to which ambition is dependant on opportunity. Some initially have lots of ambition but find there's limited possibility to advance as they progress & so stop caring. Others claim they are not ambitious but recalibrate as opportunities emerge.
