@DavidCrisafulli “Never again can we be where we are today”
- why ignore the *demand* side of the supply squeeze equation?
Do we really have to keep burning so much oil and gas just to carry on?

English

@electricfelix Running trucks on coal makes sense as we have shit tonnes of it and this is where the majority of our electricity comes from. We should also drill baby drill and refine our own oil.

"We transported essential household goods for our customer Who Gives A Crap from their distribution centre in Sydney to Canberra with a Windrose prime mover on a single charge."
"Australia must act now and seize this moment to decouple from diesel."

Sydney EV 🔋☀️@sydney_ev
a Windrose #EV Truck, just competed a loaded B Double run from Sydney to Canberra non stop, no need to charge, 100% electric. total cost $50 approx. Diesel would have cost near $500 or more. We have solutions to our fuel crisis.. #auspol #trucking brisbanetimes.com.au/environment/cl…

@ThatHanselGuy @POLITICOEurope Your future AI and data centres say no!

@POLITICOEurope At least we will be forced to be renewable and break free from our energy dependency once for all.

🚨 BREAKING: The European Commission has urged people to work from home, drive and fly less, and for EU countries to urgently roll out renewables, as it warned of a prolonged energy crisis as a result of the conflict in the Gulf.

Governments working in lockstep to orchestrate this energy ‘crisis’
Australia’s treasurer came out yesterday stating everyone should work from home and not travel over the Easter weekend to avoid future lockdown and now we have the European Commission stating the same today!
According to the Australian government there is no crisis though and we have plenty of fuel, yet in the same breathe they are telling us not to travel
They already have this all planned out

@Katherine_deves @ALeighMP We're going to be loud and proud
There will be so many Australian flags in so many places there will be no hiding from the fact we are in Australia
9 meter x 4.5 meter roof
No longer rusted because we are blowing the rust off & getting back to being proud again

One Nation want to trick you into voting for them by making you angry. But true patriots deal in facts, not fear. My response to the commentary on my latest video. #auspol

@DocCroc420 @HughButler35 @JakeBeer11 @AussieFim Hopefully. But it still makes sense to do it. Would make even more sense to electrify major rail routes, with a combination of batteries and overhead power, to reduce the need for diesel line haul.
English

Electric trucking in Australia could smash diesel imports and cost in less than 4 years. Transport accounts for 20% of the nation's emissions. Electric B-Double prime movers cost about 30 c/ km for electricity, a third of diesel's cost. Analysis by David Leitch confirms that replacing the ~ 6,000 prime movers on the Sydney - Melbourne route saves over 4 billion litres. Payback in just 4 years. If expanded to Brisbane, it would account for about 54% of diesel imports. $10 billion in imports are gone. Sovereignty gained.
Why not?

English

@HughButler35 @richards27 @JakeBeer11 @AussieFim Janus has only ~9 stations and ~25–50 trucks converted so far (with more orders). Scaling that infrastructure fast is the actual constraint. The Iran war will be over before Janus achieves 50+ conversions.
English

Janus is betting on replaceable. Locks into Janus.
What is the problem to deal with?
The international standard for high-power fast charging of heavy-duty electric trucks is the Megawatt Charging System (MCS)
Designed specifically for commercial vehicles (Class 6, 7, and 8), MCS enables charging at power levels up to 3.75 megawatts (3,000 amperes at 1,250 volts DC). This allows for charging a truck's battery from 20% to 80% in under 30 minutes, fitting into required driver rest breaks.
But Janus is retrofit. Not new.
Lets say the truck turns up at the base. The base depot puts in a 250 kW charger takes 4 hours. If the truck operates 24/7 ok. But most do not. Average hours per year is about 60 hours, 90,000km. What happens in those idle times. Slower charging.
Just like a whole bunch of car EVs that use granny charging and occassionly use a 250kW charger.

@chinafutureclub @Geopolitica81 Lucky that tyres are made from electricity and not oil.
English

@DocCroc420 @EVCurveFuturist He’s referring to things like nationalising weight limits for the vehicles. Approving licences for infrastructure. Not specifically cash support.

Diesel just got humiliated on its own turf by Chinese #EV Truck 🚚.
Sydney → Canberra freight run
Electric truck: 25 minutes faster + ~85% cheaper energy
Not greener. Not nicer. Just better.
Freight was supposed to be the last stand… #Bettrification
